Good Afternoon /namibia/. I didn't see s topic for this so figured I'd start one after I saw this in the papers. A British colony (where the HMS Bounty crashed) is desperate for colonists. The population is currently 50 and only 1 person applied for it. The colony is 100% white at present.

Is Namibia really better than this?

The lack of land surface area is somewhat worrying IMO. It would very quickly become flooded with people if there was interest for it. You would have to constantly bring a ton of stuff through the ocean if the population was very high.

It seems like a paradise if it works, but I'm not sure if it would work for the purpose of /namibia/.

Also, found pic related from google, I'm not sure what it's about but it doesn't exactly look "100% white."

Yes its small, but you could probably get a few thousand colonists living on the island chain at least. Internet would be kind of shit though given how you would be dependent on satellite connection and you would have to resort to hydroponics and trade for food.

Not sure what you guys are planning to trade though.

I stand corrected on the 100% white part, but that picture is more than half the current population.

Normally I would be interested, although I am slightly worried about rising sea levels as well as the fact that they rely on aid and are non self sustaining. Looks like a nice place though

The idea of /Namibia/ is to turn a place that isn't white, white. Legally, of course, but going to some uninhabited shit islands somewhere isn't really giving us ground to keep expanding. Where'll we go after we populate the islands? Will we just island hop around until we've populated and taken over the Pacific/Indian oceans?

The idea in Namibia is that we can legally and inevitably gain control and propagate the whole African continent from the bottom up. This'll take years, but we lose this objective if we go to some isolated island somewhere.

>The new migrants are prohibited from taking local jobs and claiming benefits for a certain amount of time, even those with children.[64] The migrants are expected to have at least NZ$30 000 per person in savings and are expected to build their own house at average cost of NZ$140 000.[65][66] It is also possible to bring the off-island builders at the additional cost between NZ$23 000 and NZ$28 000.[67] Also after the first 2 years the migrant's status will be actively reviewed by the island's council, therefore the Settlement status in not guaranteed at all.[68] The migrants are also required to do the unpaid public work to keep the island in order: maintain the island's numerous roads and paths, build roads, navigate the island long boats, clean public toilets etc.[69] There are also currently restrictions in bringing the children aged under 16 to the island.

Also to note, the population could go "extinct" by 2050.
