Nordic Union
The turn of the twenty-second century saw the peak of unionism and supranationalism, as divided states merged completely into singular, consolidated nations. Among these emergent national unions was the Nordic Union.
The formative years of the Nordic Union were marked by great initial instability, as cultural and socioeconomic differences between the western states: Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, and the eastern states: Estonia, Finland, and Karelia, made total unification a daunting task for even the most competent leaders.
Despite the initial difficulties, the Nordic Union has emerged into the twenty-third millenium with a renewed sense of solidarity and synergy, each state of the Union using their own unique brand of ingenuity to contribute to a result much greater than the sum of its parts.
The Nordic Union is seen as one of the great cultural and social leaders in the world, and multiple Western nations have begun adopting laws, social structures, and cultural trends similar to those of their Nordic counterpart.
The Nordic Union currently lacks any significant orbital launch capability of its own, and thus has required the use of other nations' launch platforms for spaceflight missions, these nations generally being the recipient of much investment by the Union. The Nordic Union operates a collection of low orbital and high orbital satellites, used for almost exclusively non-military purposes, and some Chairmen of the Union's constituent states have discussed the prospect of constructing an official spaceport with which the Union could conduct launches of its own, and become more self-sufficient in the field of space exploration.
As Head Chairman of the Nordic Union, it is ultimately your decision how you will proceed with the Union's space research efforts going into the 23rd millenium.

Great Korean Republic
The twenty-first century was a time of immense strife in Korea, with the nation split in half along an arbitrary border, dividing the "Westernized" South, by that point little more than a puppet state of the Americans, and the "Easternized" North, who refused to submit to the American cultural imperialism of the time.
With tensions in Korea having risen nearly to a critical breaking point, the financial and infrastructural collapse of the United States of America in the late twenty-first century and the subsequent withdrawal of its military garrisons in Japan and South Korea signified North Korea's greatest opportunity yet. Having collaborated in secret for multiple decades with eastern powers Russia, China, and Iran to reinforce its military power, the North launched an immediate and total invasion of the South, and completed its "liberation" of the region only a few years later.
Going into the twenty-second century, the newly-united Korea saw more than its fair share of difficulties, with regional governments in the North and South refusing to reconcile their differences, and the South continuing to reach out to Western powers for intervention rather than submitting to the government in Pyongyang.
Ultimately, as the fusion of Northern and Southern industries led to a period of unprecedented economic growth for the united Korea, the Southerners gradually abandoned their political dependence on the West, and began to embrace traditional, conservative Korean culture once more.
The Greater Korean Republic is now viewed throughout the world as a proud, united nation, with one of the largest militaries in the world and a sizeable mass-destructive arsenal to defend itself with.
The Greater Korean Republic, being a nuclear power in the world, and no stranger to space travel itself, has more than enough launch capability to send an object into medium Earth orbit, and operates a small assortment of orbital satellites, a significant number of which are used for military logistics purposes.
Recently, some officials of various aeronautics and space research divisions have considered the possibility of launching an extraterrestrial probe, for the purposes of collecting what would be Korea's first samples of physical data from other worlds.
As Supreme Secretary of the Presidium of the Greater Korean Republic, it is up to you to lead Korea into the new century, and choose whether to consolidate your nation's power here on Earth, or to perhaps become a power among the stars.
