The first book is called "The Forced War" by David Hoggan:

David Hoggan's book is a diplomatic history of the 1933 to 1939 time period written by an American diplomatic historian from Harvard who could speak German and Polish fluently and who was also married to a German woman. Hoggan focuses on how the British were manipulating Polish government policy to use the Polish government as "bait" to trick Germany in to getting sucked in to WW2 and he does a 10/10 analysis of this.

Suvorov's book is also good because it documents how Stalin and the USSR intelligence community knew that the British Freemasons were trying to force a war on Germany through Poland and the USSR planned to take advantage of the situation by waiting until the Germans, British and French had all fought eachother in to a state of exhaustion and then the USSR would attack westward and invade Europe in the last minute as "liberators".

Hitler wanted that Danzig corridor clay. Poles said no, but he still invaded. He didnt think that the British and French would join the war since he thought that they were weak after the Munich's conference and lacked the stomach and will for another World War.

As I understand it from reading both the German Foreign Office's white books and Hitler's operational orders for Fall Weiss, what Hitler intended to do was putting pressure on the western Allies by invading Poland, and forcing them back to the negotiating table to solve the Polish question. He thought that since he had teamed up with the Soviets, they'd never dare declare war on him (similar to how the Prussians and Austrians invaded Denmark in 1864 despite Britain's guarantee - their combined war potential was so strong that Britain backed off).

If you read Hitler's orders, you'll see that he wanted the Wehrmacht to conquer as much German land as possible in a short time, so that he would be in a better position during the expected negotiations. Also note that he called for an international peace conference immediately after launching the invasion.

The apparent error in Hitler's calculation is that he thought of Britain and France either as independent nations who wouldn't risk ruining their own empires for some slavic shithole, OR he thought of them as idealistic defenders of an "international order", who genuinely cared about the fate of a small country like Poland (if this had been the case, the Allies would've had to declare war on the Soviets too since they invaded Poland same as Germany). Hitler had no idea the leaders of these countries had long been bought by American jewry.

tl;dr Hitler got tricked into starting the war by the western democracies on one hand, and the Soviets on the other. He thought his pact with the Soviets would scare off Britain, and he had no idea that Britain never gave a shit about the fate of Poland. It was all about enslaving Germany from the very beginning. That was the west's one and only goal.
