The term was made up only in the last few years when a feminist didn't understand the English language and took the term "cis" in relation to an opposing reaction to "trans" in chemistry and thought it meant the same thing (this usage doesn't even make sense if you used it the same way in chemistry) for humans because the opposite had the word "trans" in it.
Yes, Oxford-freakin-Dictionary has just put the word "Cisgender" into what will be taught to children because some dumbass feminist in the 90's didn't realize that the word "trans" in chemistry isn't a reference or even remotely the same thing as "trans" in relation to humans.
