the only reason google are moving out of russia is because they wish to keep logs of internet use of their citizens in their country.

the article condemns russia for doing keeping logs at all, but the united states and members of the european union already require internet companies to do the same.

this year google removed uncensored image search, "damaging" results to ex criminals and politicians and thousands more copyrighted inks at the request of copyright agencies. and no dmca youtube video takedowns.

and that's just the censorship google has helped with this year i know about.
