On January 21, 2015, Christopher Poole AKA moot, the founder of 4chan.org announces that he will resign from administration after 11 years on his blog and news page.
This sudden turn of events shocks even the volunteer who wrote
>>>/forfree/. Considering the events of the last few months (banning of gamergate related discussion, the destruction and sterilization of /pol/), it does feel like moot had planned this for some time to take the heat and "make the bed" for whoever comes next.
Poole also revealed in his Q&A stream that day to day site administration would be taken up by three admins, one is named MDB. People speculate that the other two could be Alternative and RapeApe, the two most senior moderators on 4chan.
On the Q&A stream, the enigmatic Poole reveals very little in 8 hours, rambling from topic to topic and answering harmless questions. He mentioned financial troubles and wanting to "do more" and work on his other projects.
Will Christopher Poole continue to drive 4chan from the shadows? Will the new administration make any drastic changes to 4chan? Only time will tell…
