4chon.net was a site created in 2010 that hosted the /r9k/ and /news/ boards when 4chan removed them. It was the birthplace of many memes that are used today on /pol/, such as Ben Garrison edits, ron paul and JIDF. The site had a fairly strong following of almost 20,000 posters at it's prime and several million posts but dwindled to a few holdouts and tripfags by 2013, as /r9k/ was reinstated and /pol/ was created on 4chan.
The board was shut down on December of 2014, replaced with a sign offering to sell it with an asking price of 10,000 AUD. The users of 4chon scattered across the internet. Many users regrouped on 8chan's
>>>/4chon/ board, which is run by the former moderators of the site. Currently, the URL redirects to a satirical site called stopnerds.org.
STI (short for Save The Internet) was the creator and owner of 4chon.net. He is also the creator of the tinyboard image script that 8chan is based on. He is known for his strange money making schemes, disinterest in 4chon and alledged cocaine habit.
On February 13th, 2015, STI, the former owner of 4chon.net contacted the 8chan administrator via IRC to ask him to close 8chan.
STI starts off by expressing his revulsion of 8chans content and claims that Hotwheels has created a site for racists, harassers and pedophiles. He pleads to Hotwheels to close his site down for moral reasons. STI reveals that he shut down 4chon because it "spiralled out of control into a hub for hatred and racism", and believes that Hotwheels should do the same. He also claims that he only kept the site running for so long because he had to cooperate with law enforcement, who were monitoring the sites posters. Hotwheels offers to buy the domain name 4chon.net for $500 dollars and is rejected. STI counters, offering to pay Hotwheels to close the site for $10,000 AUD and is laughed at and redirected to JIM's e-mail.
