It's almost predictive of what was to come for 4chan. Sort of sad how imageboards always descend into normalfaggotry and hotpocketry, but at least it can serve as a marker for when to leave. Are Laurelai and Lambda still behind the scenes shitting it up today?

Last time I have checked, Laurelai was either busy with shitting up reddit even more than its democratic system ever could or running scared because everyone farting information about her. Among that Information is the rumor that he opened /hebe for shitting up 8chan with CP. After Hotwheels' decree, that plan went to Gensokyo if it ever was real.

Rumor has it that Lambda was replaced by some normalfag. I don't trust it fully though, since KC is run by circlejerk. There are at least a dozen of channels that are more or less connected to KC on EUirc. The most important ones are #krautchan, #komturkanal the former seekrit circlejerk and #kcng for the virtue of containing Lambda and derGeneral. Lambda is still sitting in most of them.

Another interesting tidbit is the email Lambda used to register: lambda@eris.krautchan.net. Another discordian motherfucker; ain't that a kick in the head? Also thanks for the download link. As I said in my wall of text, I know of a mirror but I didn't feel like handing it out on a big board all the little shitposters from god knows were could see it.

That's about it, I think. I may have tagged it poorly, i.e. not tagged it at all, but this thread is for every user base uprising on an imageboard. If you have something similar, post it in here.

Second mistake: KC has no modlog so there is no reliable way to attribute mod actions. He made a few modposts and people started blaming him for everything because he was the only public face.

It wasn't Finns, there was including, but not limited to, a Brit, a Russian and an American, all demanding that the raids continue. They didn't care if KC was perpetually down as a result of DDoS. "Don't give an inch to the feminists" and other assorted autism. When they got slapped for it, they went and created all the butt-hurt anti-Lambda images you see now, all because they weren't allowed to hold a website hostage over their ideals.

This isn't all that bad, out of the things I disagree with though, I'd like to challenge one:

Neither did this happen nor was it possible with a botnet alone - Cloudflare did exist then and we had used it before during a string of russian DDoSes in the previous months. A DDoS was an inconvenience, not a threat. We just didn't like to give our cookies to CF (who looked way more shady then than they do now) and generally didn't want to grow dependent on it. (By the way good job breaking it script kiddies - Literally every significant chan now depends on CF. CF is a company, not a protocol, and if they ever decide not to support chans anymore, the consequences will be apocalyptic for the chanosphere as a whole)

What happened was that I recognized one of the names involved (Laurelai) and thought "well I know that one at least by name, maybe we can talk". I sought her out on freenode and told her to stop the cannons so that I could at least look at the thread to see what happened. I then overreacted and banned the whole thread instead of just the people who had plausibly raided the channel (probably a dozen of which a few had posted in the thread, I simply don't have data on this) and that's how the drama kicked off. A bunch of people emigrated to ylilauta (that made for roughly a 30% drop in posts for a few weeks) and over the course of the next few weeks to years mostly came back.

I like to see the whole thing as an exercise in history - the more believable version is the one that lives, not the true one. The idea that some people just like to get along and talk first is alien to many channers.

How does KC look like these days? I left around 2013 but I don't want to go back. I still remember the large number of /r9k/-style feel threads on /int/. The last things I remember is Floridaball announcing the birth of his son and Drawstralia/kit turning batshit crazy and drawing these schizophrenic tumblrina satire dogs.

Here is what I know through indirect interaction with new Bernd through Livechan and /drachenlord/. The autistic neckbeard thing is meme derived from a major element that made /int/ so attractive after its outsider ghetto phase: Serious discussions. Maybe this element had been eaten by therm rot by now.

The German part is in a horrible state. /Drachenlord/ has revealed that Bernd is much easier shilled nowadays than the goodest goy. After constant bombing from Lachschonfags through Tor and an archive that done in the most laughable manner, they left /drachenlord/ in masses, because the moderator closed TOR and began to hammer shills. Other than that, I know nothing.
