My plans for the immediate future:

- Finish my redesign of the global navigation. Everyone is going to immediately hate it but it needs to happen.

- Add the global board index. Hopefully my code for that is modular enough I can import it no big deal.

- Finish user interface for site staff.

- Improve how board and site settings are handled as per this ticket:

If it gets bad I'll have to freeze my work on the project in favor of profitable work to support myself. It'll become a part-time thing and 8chan will not get it until later.

Josh I really think you should make a fundraiser thread on /v/ again (and other places).

I know it would look like begging when in the past there was already a thread about this and now you are asking for more, but you should just show them what's been done from then to now.

You need just a few more shekels for infinity-next to go into beta, I'm sure that a few anons will see that there were results from that time frame and will give that few more to finish the code into beta state.

copypaste allowed me to pop a script in on the site header that will display my devtimer. It's already been working, I've gotten about $100 today so far after adding it. I'm hoping that'll be enough.

If it's not, I'll make a post about it, but I'm confident that the awareness brought on by the dev timer will be enough. I think most people just don't check to see if the project needs cash frequently enough to respond to it dipping below the line.

Importing my board list now. Mostly seamless, but for it to work I need to:

1) Add tags [easy]

2) Write a query for children of children.

The new stats table creates an hourly row for each board that has various counters. These counters then each have children with an individual datum called a "unique".

Many boards have many stat rows that have many uniques.

When I tally up "active users", want to only select the distinct uniques that belong to stat rows generated in the last 3 days for the board in question.

I could hack a query together quickly but I want this to be efficient.

I'll also take this time to be sure and add sorters to the headers.

I'm torn on it. On one hand, I think the board directory deserves its own page. On the other, people tell me that the board directory is a redundant page with it being on the home page (and I like that the boards directory is now the front and recent item on the front page). Not sure what to do about it.

I think board directory should be in the home page, it's less clutter and less clicks to get to the actual page (where board directory is) most users will want to go to.

In the end, almost everybody is going to use the board directory page because it's the most important, it being at home just makes it quicker for everyone.

An example of the global nav is live but it's very incomplete. I committed and pulled early because of database issues. Tomorrow I will see the board list to completion and then tweak the nav more.
