7chan had a thing called power sage, which was a a sage that required a bump to vanquish. Thus shit threads could be bombed to the last page.

Maybe add that as an optional feature.

How about you make it so that no IP can bump more than twice in a row instead? This won't stop faggots with VPNs from bumping shit threads but at least it will stop most users, since most users just go with their own IP.

It's used in two ways. On some boards it's used to keep threads alive, but to avoid shitting threads up with a bunch of bumps/contributing to the bump limit. It's a polite bump and effectively the opposite of polite sage.

Otherwise it's used for forum sliding or just general annoyance, bumping up old threads and pretending they didn't.
