Here's a little story. I'm sure you've seen the "preteen babe" spammer who throws up half of a small CP image in a black box with a link written above it. That guy used to post links. Then, we disabled those links from automatically turning into URLs. He literally kept buying domains and circumvented IP bans until we had salted like $300 worth of domain names. Now, he just throws them up in the image and nothing can be done about it.

One of the main reasons why that guy has such success spamming here is because our D++ has erectile dysfunction. This is the tool we use to delete posts by one IP across the entire site.

However, posts on Vichan are stored in different tables per board. "posts_b", "posts_next", etc. So if you delete a post by one IP across all boards, you're doing it like ..

DELETE FROM posts_a WHERE author_ip="xxxx";

DELETE FROM posts_b WHERE author_ip="xxxx";

DELETE FROM posts_c WHERE author_ip="xxxx";

DELETE FROM posts_d WHERE author_ip="xxxx";

This happens over 9000 times (literally). It also causes HTML recaches all over the place and can basically crash the software. We cannot easily delete child pornography on 8chan because the software is so broken.

Before we start implementing things like autobanning, I want to see if having more powerful mod tools will deter spam.
