Something like Reddit's /r/<whatever> or voat.co's /v/<whatever>

makes it more organized, currently we have /cp/ (control panel) on the same level

I suggest /8/<whatever> since that's what's used to refer to 8chan boards as opposed to 4chan boards anyway

copypaste refuses to let me put boards on a subdomain, which was my original idea. I hate the reddit system with a passion though.

After v1, I'll go back and make routes customizable so you can have boards.8ch.net/b/ and then /cp/ will rest at the root of www.8ch.net

Because it's ugly. Boards are the most important feature of the site. You're not accessing 8chan + feature + board, you're accessing an 8chan board.
