>I will be posting at least a daily update to Twitter regarding the progress of Infinity Next.

Pic related.

So these guys do a migration 48 hours before taking a holiday vacation? Seriously? --> Amateur hour! <--

Josh, hotwheels and Jim went to the 2channel Christmas party and week long get together in Japan.

He set a deadline of New Years for Next to be live so hold him to that.

Can't they just work on it while they're there? With all the developers?

You been to Akihabara in Tokyo? Pic related.

Willing to bet money there is no work happening. I got no problem with that I just think the planning of doing this migration right before a trip they all planned was complete fucking amateur hour. Nobody who's done a migration of a massive data set to a new application would ever do that. It's just silly.

...meanwhile they're all getting their dicks sucked patting themselves on the back for a job well done.

>So these guys do a migration 48 hours before taking a holiday vacation?

reminds me of soma completely losing his composure and going on a ban spree the day before going on a holiday in france

let's ignore that he stayed in his appartment most of time due to cloudy weather despite satellite pics showing clear skies over france

Most places like soaplands won't service westerners because Nips believe that STDs are a west thing. It would be hard for Josh to find a place to service him.

Also if you're Asian and they ask where you are from, don't say anything about being Chinese/Korean, many places will throw you out.

And if you're a nigger, won't even get past the front door bouncer.

Just like Nov 1st, Dec 1st, Dec, 18th, and 'a few days' after Dec. 18th. They really need to stop giving dates they can't deliver.

(Telling fibs is immoral, anon.)

d74912 No.3434

Yeah except that never happened fag. I promised an open beta in November and an import beta in December. I've never promised specific dates, other people do that for me and it gets me in trouble because you dipshits believe a once-off comment to Mark or copy is high-holy law. It's not. This is a one man show and I've done my best to shoot for the november/december beta/import window. Specific dates are hard to keep with a full staff and I'd never promise something I knew I couldn't deliver; I am not a gambler.

I would like to work more but we have zero downtime. I get maybe an hour or two on the computer a day and I spend it just trying to catch up with what I missed. I think about Next all the time while nothing else is happening, though. I have code in my head but little time to write it down. Doesn't help that the Japanese wifi networks break my testing VMs because of Local IP shit.

Have you figured out more or less what you're going to do about the roles/permissions performance issue?

d74912 No.3440

>>3439

All in my head. I'm going to break it up so that it doesn't need to compile so much logic at once. I'm also going to cache that in the DB as well as Memcached since it's very complicated. Will make loading instantaneous.

Only if you use Vivaldi, though. In other browsers there will be a delay due to having to allocate memory.

dfdab5 No.3454

Don't you have like a test DB you can spin up for a day or something? Every system I've worked on has at least had an old copy of the production data to run against so that you know if your code can handle the scale of actual production, not just the development data set....

If you like proprietary shitware botnets

1e2d9e No.3480

Vivaldi is just a riced up Chromium that requires a local webserver for the UI. It does literally nothing the real thing doesn't except waste EVEN MORE RAM.

Go ahead, type chrome://chrome-urls in and look at all that raw functionality being hidden from you.

No one's talking about the back end you sperg, no one needs more from the back end than what current browsers provide anyways. Vivaldi provides user interface customization like no other browser, no shitty plugins breaking every major update about it, as well as Opera-style tab stacking which anyone who actually does more with their browser than load their three favorite Stallman spiels on startup knows is a massive time saver.

33684c No.3496

>>3492

Is Vivaldi a Google botnet or did they strip all that garbage out?

add374 No.3509

>>3492

It is also proprietary shitware which you vivaldi shills keep failing to acknowledge. This means that anyone that isn't a fucking retard will stay far the fuck away from that botnet

61c54f No.3551

>>3509

You don't read the source code of everything you run anyways, so you should stop pretending it is somehow safer or more trustworthy. If you're going to trust "the community" to expose problems rather than sell exploits to the NSA, that's a much bigger failure mode than trusting one company, and if you weren't a brain-dead socialist you'd know that.
