Isn't this entire criticism based on the presumption that we had any other options? Let that sit in your head for a while.
In [current year] where 8chan is one of the most publicly hated politically incorrect, misogynistic/racist/whatever website, who the fuck would develop for it? Before you say, "Just hire a great developer, DUH!!!" Shut the fuck up and question whether or not any professional-level developer would want to be associated with this website, its admin, or its userbase all? The answer is:
NOBODY
In the highly SJW-infiltrated tech world, especially! That fat methwhale randi harper or one of her goons would catch wind of a dev who was supporting "free speech online" (equivalent to supporting pedos and beheading, then raping kittens) and that guy's career would've been dead in the fucking water unless he wanted to move to nip-land and work on projects in a foreign country - as Josh and HW had to fucking do, because they were blacklisted and blackballed everywhere in this country, and through all of the US's online payment providers.
Seriously, our options were fucking limited. What you learned in college about the "best way to do things" is straight from the same people who write fucking instruction manuals that say, "Once you plug the device in and it's working" without ever considering that in the real world things do not always work that simply.
