You sure they were deleted? In beta site /liberty/ has more pages than in this site. The catalog does not show every thread for whatever reason.

Infinity Now shows 14 threads per page.

Infinity next only shows 10.

/liberty/ had 22 pages on infinity now.

It only has 15 pages of next.

This means that only through this change, 158 threads have been lost. Not sure where the other 64 have gone though.

/4chon/ here. I think the "deleted" threads are still there, you just can't access them by conventional means. I tried deleting a lot of threads on my board that ended up with corrupted images, broken links to youtube videos, webms and so on in the OP and when I did a new thread would appear in the catalog that was otherwise out of sight.

It might be a pain in the ass but you may very well be able to save a key thread if you're willing to put in the effort.

As an aside, thank you for your hard work Josh-despite everything that's been happening I know you're doing what you can.

Because apparently fixing the small problem of posts occasionally not going through and the index pages sometimes getting stuck is a bigger job than transferring the entire to site entirely different, even more broken software that lacks many already existing features that will need to have time spent on implementing them anyway unless a mass exodus from the site is wanted.

In /monster/'s case, not all pages show up in the catalog, but if you navigate through the NINETEEN PAGES to find what you want, you find that the threads in the pages missing from the catalog are there. Either way, still an incredibly major fuckup.

...and just to elaborate, by "back him" I mean, agree with every last decision that's been made regarding the new software. I'm just saiyan, the fact that he's been forced to try and release over a month early and has had very little outside help if at all up until now as far as I'm aware is pretty bogus. I don't follow 8gag drama in the slightest so, besides the absolutely dreadful way this shit was handled from an administrative standpoint I don't know of any particular reason why I shouldn't at least tacitly support him when he's the only person working on getting this site's functionality back. If he's booted off the project or leaves voluntarily this shit will likely continue on even longer.

He didn't test to see if the technologies he wanted to use would even work prior to spending 6 months building a site on top of them, then was stumped when they didn't. I have no sympathy. That was fucking stupid and we told him it was fucking stupid. That was a slow motion trainwreck and it was obvious to anyone with even a faint clue as to how to build a site. He's just going to continue to fuck up as that's who he is.
