I don't expect any more bugfixes from wheelman since we are switching to next anyway so here is the bug complaint thread for things that have never been fixed even after having been mentioned multiple times on /operate/ that you hope will be avoided in next.

Adding LOL with 2* on both sides still breaks the site, the same probably happens with other filters as well.

Some filters just don't seem to work or to only take effect when the thread is opened, I have tried multiple different phrases from the gamergate thread copypasta and the subject line but the thread is till being shown.

Filters don't work at all in the catalog.

The watchlist is a mess, the threads only have numbers instead of the subject line most of the time, sometimes you get a reply window after opening one, sometimes you don't. The name of the bookmarked thread changes to weird combinations of phrases from the thread when bookmarking a post that used the subject field. Also, having to scroll way up just to put a post on the watchlist is annoying, there should be an option to have the watch thread option scroll with you.

Clicking the filename to download the file with that name works almost nowhere.

Certain themes make parts of the website unreadable, dark for example breaks the catalog when hovering over a thread and parts of the options menu.

Oh, also, one thing I noticed just now.

IF YOU ARE TRYING TO UPLOAD A FILE AND THE CAPTCHA CHANGES HALFWAY THROUGH BECAUSE OF A SLOW CONNECTION,THE POST WILL BE REJECTED.

>still has the oldish topbar

>still shows old japanese 2ch ads

>still has old file upload/comment box

I know that board is completely broken, but why does this shit happen again? Whenever I come across some ancient dead board it'll usually have an older version of the topbar, some announcement from ages ago, and random old shit like that.

This has been explained multiple times.

The system caches HTML. If no posts are made, the board never recaches. A board made months ago that never got a post remains a dormant archive of how it looked when first created.

When Infinity Next comes around, will this be fixed?

I don't think Jim is happy with those outdated ads.

I was trying to answer >>1041's question, because I'm pretty sure it was stated on the website and I noticed that the topbar is cut off, and you can't scroll over to see the rest of it.

it's not on infinitydev.org anymore, since it got replaced with Recent Uploads & Recent Posts, but it was mentioned

here's an archived page

>Existing software caches in HTML

>

>When you access /b/, there is a file called /b/index.html on the server. This HTML file is updated every time a post is made. Every page on a board has a subsequent 2.html file. The reason an imageboard commonly has an arbitary 15 page limit is due to the time it takes to recache every page after a new thread is created. Some developers think they're clever by writing caches to the harddisk, but the bottleneck becomes the very expensive and hard limited disk I/O. With Infinity, posts never need to be deleted. Caching will work with existing technologies like Memcached.

>

>Aside from being ineffecient, it also causes problems. If you wanted to make a password-protected board, you'd not be able to, because, once unlocked, the page would be recached without a password form. Features (like the already extant delete-your-own-post button on Infinity) are impossible because the site cannot modify the view based on the request. Everything becomes more complicated with system built like this.

>

>There have been attempts at repairing this by implementing a front-end controller, but these patches caused problems on live servers. With enough time and effort, I'm sure it is possible to work around this system or rebuild it, but that's like rebuilding the engine block of a beat up Honda Civic. Why bother?
