I love the board's rules, in fact I was thinking of creating one with a fairly similar setup (must have links and excerpts, etc.) though I do have a few questions for you, Owner.

1. Shouldn't we have a contact/meta thread? I tried posting this in the Rules thread originally but that is locked.
2. Is there any standard of material, or does anything up to fringe fly here? Not that I have a problem with much of the stuff, but will things like "aliums are real, ayy lmao check out this "news" link" be tolerated here?
3. Do you want board promotion? (I can do it for free). The rules seem like they would keep the board safe from any shitposters that follow the breadcrumb trail.
4. Where can one go to efficiently search many alt news sources? I doubt there will be much, if any, MSM on this board.
5. Will memeposting and off topic posts within threads be culled? Is the board 100% straight and serious or is there fun allowed? I don't mind either way, but the former would probably be better for getting news out.

 No.26

I'm going to delete this thread after I'm sure you've read this. Future policy will be deletion and a 30 minute ban for all non-conforming threads. You know, for consistency and all that.

1. I don't see really how much there is left to say on /meta/ things. I might make one about a proper news stand CSS or for finding volunteers.

2. I would like to say no to start but I think fake news that has no pretense of even pretending to be real probably wouldn't be allowed. We'll see though, they could be the fun threads of the board.

3. Please do. I would greatly appreciate it.

4. You might want to compile a sources list now as best as you can and then set up an RSS feed. Personally I would love to see serious threads with maybe one or two fun threads / onion threads sprinkled in.

5. Yeah, I don't mind trolling or whatever but if it isn't witty: say posting a meme over and over, I'd probably hand out a short ban to tell them to cut it out.

Cool, thanks for the response.

please never add IDs

I don't plan on it. There is really zero reason to add them to a board like this.

Also, when I end up adding volunteers they will adhere to a pretty obvious mod policy that I will post. If you see them violate it, I will can them.

Thanks for posting this so I can addend the rules sticky. You should at least post a small summary from the article in the main OP.

what is "a short summary"? 2-3 sentences ok?

In most cases 2-3 sentences can be plenty.

Education Secretary Nicky Morgan says 'rich ethnic mix' can be good for schools

> Nicky Morgan has insisted that a ‘rich ethnic mix’ can improve the quality of education of Britain’s schools.

> The Education Secretary said there is good evidence that having classes full of children from different backgrounds thanks to immigration ‘can drive up standards’.

> The comments directly contradict warnings from her own Cabinet colleague, Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith, who last month said new arrivals were changing the ‘character’ of schools.

> And Sir Michael Wilshaw, the chief inspector of schools, has said that schools are struggling to cope with an ‘influx’ of migrant pupils.

FBI charges Saudi-born naval engineer over plans to sink aircraft carrier

> A Naval engineer is facing federal charges for allegedly giving an undercover FBI agent secret documents on a new aircraft carrier being built in Norfolk, Va.

> Saudi-born Mostafa Ahmed Awwad, 35, of Yorktown, Va., was arrested Friday on an FBI affidavit claiming he planned to use a dead-drop location along a secluded hiking trail to hand off secret information about the Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier, set to be delivered to the Navy in 2016, Fox News reported Saturday.

> During a hotel meeting on Oct. 9, Mr. Awwad gave the undercover agent, posing as an Egyptian spy named “Yousef,” secret drawings of the vessel and “discussed where to strike the vessel with a missile in order sink it,” the affidavit says.

> He also asked for $1,500 to buy a tiny camera to photograph restricted material around the shipyard.

> Mr. Awwad is accused of two counts of attempted exportation of defense articles and technical data, punishable by 20 years in prison for each count.

> According to the affidavit, Mr. Awwad was born in Saudi Arabia, married a U.S. citizen in Cairo in 2007 and took steps to become a U.S citizen.

Israel ‘launches airstrikes’ near Damascus airport

> Syrian state television said on Sunday that Israeli jets had bombed areas near Damascus international airport and in the town of Dimas, near the border with Lebanon.

> “The Israeli enemy committed aggression against Syria by targeting two safe areas in Damascus province, in all of Dimas and near the Damascus International Airport,” state television said, adding that there were no casualties.

> An Israeli army spokesman said he would “not relate to the foreign reports.”

> Residents in Damascus said they heard loud explosions. Lebanon’s Hezbollah-run al-Manar television said Israeli jets bombed areas near the smaller airport at Dimas.

> The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which tracks the conflict, said that 10 explosions were heard near Dimas.

GOP lawmakers press administration on ‘sanctions’ claim

> Republicans in Congress are asking the Obama administration to explain a murkily sourced claim that it is considering “sanctions” against Israel.

> “Recent reports suggest that your administration has held classified meetings over the past several weeks to discuss the possibility of imposing sanctions against Israel for its decision to construct homes in East Jerusalem,” said the letter sent Friday and signed by 48 members of the U.S. House of Representatives led by Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.). “Israel is one of our strongest allies, and the mere notion that the administration would unilaterally impose sanctions against Israel is not only unwise, but is extremely worrisome.”

> Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) and Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) issued similar statements.

> The appeals are apparently based on a Dec. 4 story in Haaretz reporting that the Obama administration “is examining taking action against the construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, rather than making do with issuing denunciatory statements.”

> The article, which is based on a claim from an anonymous Israeli official who said he was briefed by an American official, does not cite any “sanctions.”
