I am curious as to why the fastest growing chan site doesn't seem to have that much that is automotive related.

All sorts of shitty car forums have large communities, and you have to make accounts to use those. I would think the anonymity (and what the IDs do to stop samefagging) is a plus.

What do you think the problem is? Is 8chan too young? Is there a way to better promote autos on 8chan? Do NEETS just live indoors and not know the joy of rowing through the gears on a backroad?

Many of the people that use this site probably dont even own a car, especially the neets. I think the demographic of this chan is mostly weebs and computer nerds, who dont really gravitate towards the automotive scene.

/o/ on half was sort of slow for something that's a major interest. There's also the fact that people who would use a chan and those with a interest in cars is a pretty small overlap, for various reasons.

Chans skew towards young weebs and other IT oriented people who either don't have the time, money or space for doing automotive shit. Rudeness weeds out most old dudes who can't handle people talking shit about their favorite brand whom they have shrines constructed out of old engine blocks and images of (famous racing Josh) plastered all over it.

It's been said in this thread (>>2453) but I wanted to expand on it.

Chans usually focus on a broad topic (Vidya, Weapons, Cooking) but car guys usually only focus on a brand or model and join niche interest forums to talk about their cars. Also they might link the Hugbox type environment that comes along with it.

A Chan is sort of the antitheses to that. Sure you can talk about a Mustang or Camaro but expect a post or two in to tell you, you suck and have awful tastes in cars. So the people who have interest in multiple cars are less then the whole Car guy segment.

I hope the "why is this board so slow" becomes main discussion.
