It's a truck that's the right size that lets you actually do shit that a full size cant because they're the size of a fucking bus. Only problem is you can't option them any way that I would want one. Which would be with the V6, 4x4, manual, single cab short bed, and also not cost a million and a half. It's not as ugly in person as it is in pictures on the internet, but I only saw it for a second driving past a stealership a week ago.
Pic related, still a better truck

777e37 No.2680
>>2675Yeah it just depends on the situation. If I was buying a new truck it wouldn't be a daily Josh, and it would have a toolbox I can take with me depending on what I'm doing with it.
Extended cabs are good if you're using it as a daily though. My brother has a Ranger exactly like the one in the last picture and he just keeps a bunch of junk in the extended cab because no one can fit in it. The 10 hours or so of my life that I've had to spend back there, most of it with my mom is enough torture.
Pic mostly related to thread.
fc6bf7 No.2684
>>2680I never said anything about putting people in the back part of the extended cab. Granted, I have an old Nissan Hardbody. I'll occasionally put one of my nephews in the back seats, but that's not often. I mostly like the extended cab for the ability to put shit in there that can stay dry if I go on a road trip with it. I have a cap on it (bought it that way) but it leaks like hell. It's nice to be able to throw a suitcase or two behind the front seats and be able to go on a trip.

>>2678Fucking brilliant and lulzy commercial wasted on the worst car Cadillac currently makes, I mean I know GM is Jew as fuck, but a FWD hybrid, with AWD not even an option? That's just embarrassing for a luxury car maker, and Caddy should be ashamed.
0a2a8e No.2728
>>2595with how far the us automakers have come in terms of making full size half tons there's no point in getting a small truck
why would I get a colorado when a half ton silverado will do the following:
get about the same mpg's in real world driving with a half ton silverado and the 5.3 L eight
be a lot more useful in terms of towing and hauling capacity. my 2014 f150 with the heavy duty package can do about as much towing and hauling as a 5 year old f250, it's reasonable to assume that GM's half ton trucks have a similar jump in ability too
lastly, checked the overall dimensions on the colorado. thing's like 80% the size of a silverado but I can't get shit useful to me … like an 8 foot box.
maybe this shit will be good for cheap ass fleet buyers cause the small differences in operating costs would add up over a large enough fleet of colorado trucks. other than that? sticking with full size trucks. they don't make full size trucks like they used to, but in this case that's a good thing. most full size half tons can do the work of slightly older three quarter tons while being as easy to drive as a car (no recirculating ball power steering and having to turn wheel over 9000 times just to make small adjustments while driving in a straight line)

That commercial pissed me off. They compared the guy with a new truck, versus a guy with a 10-year old Toyota Corolla.
What would happen if the truck in the photo was the same, but the car was truly badass. How about a Dodge Viper?

>>2728>thing's like 80% the size of a silveradoThat's the biggest problem, aside from it being too expensive. Contractors and other people who need a truck but don't need a big fuckin' truck are still left with their old Rangers that they'll never get rid of at this rate. Ford is supposedly working on something like that.
What we really need is some cheeki breeki truck.

>>2875What's amazing to me is even a modern F150 with V8 can only haul a little more than my ancient Nissan pickup. Bloated piece of shit that balloons pointlessly every year. And now Nissan is no better, having replaced the best truck ever with the D40. Which will never be anything but a fat lemon.
Also the F150's now an aluminium piece of shit and the industry's reasoning is, to paraphrase, people will bitch but they'll eventually need new trucks and will fold and buy the new fragile pieces of shit because we're stupid.
1cc59a No.2903
>>2902Yeah, the industry is completely dependent on having to sell people new cars every 3-5 years, so everything is redesigned every few years and of course the redesigns have to have bigger numbers than the one that precedes it. And they only need to be reliable enough to get a nice score in the JDP initial quality survey and CR tests, but not reliable enough to not go to shit in a few years.
It's stupid because if someone came out with a compact diesel model like the old Hilux, they'd sell a gazillion of them. One of my coworkers has an '85 long bed TD with a stick shift and every time she parks it somewhere she gets notes stuck to her windshield from people begging to buy it.
