I made a thread a year ago asking along this line.
Why are luggage door handles popular now?
All you get is scratches behind the handle as people's nails hit the car's paint and scrape along it; as people are busy, in a rush, and the body approximates the movement and allows the structure of the car to guide their fingernails. Pic related.
What car manufacturers need to do is to either:
-Make the recessed area from straight metal instead of painted.
-Use a different handle style, such as a upward rotating flap, where people won't end up scratching
-At worst, provide protectors for those areas
But this shit is just laziness.
>>2912I have never found a door handle that was so difficult to open that I couldn't do it with gloves. Even my 70's yank tank with a tiny upward flat works just fine.
