My point was people seem to think that because someone else managed to sell their car for X dollars, they can sell their shitbox which has been poorly modded with cheap, no name ebay parts and run hard as hell for the same price. I don't give a shit how you shake it, there's no way I'd pay over $500 for a s13 with no engine or interior, but I see it on CL all the time.

Also, I'm pretty sure the only reason the AE86 is remotely sought after is…. actually I have no idea why. It's a lightweight RWD car, but that's about all it has going for it without heavy modifications. I'm pretty sure a dump truck could outrun a stock AE86.
