>Buying a Japanese car or American Bear car

Just buy a car made by the Aryan Masterrace and cars meant to go fast while not getting easily arrested.

>bmw

That's a motherfucking Alpina ya pleb

That's like calling a RUF or Gemballa a Porsche

ff4565 No.5451

>>5450

It's got the BMW badge on the fucking hood, you fucking idiot.

9772eb No.5454

>>5451

What badge is that on the rims then?

cdada6 No.5455

>>5450

alpinas are made on the bmw assembly line, they're just as much their own manufacturer as amg is (which is to say not at all)

ff4565 No.5456

>>5454

Are you really gonna use wheel badges over badges on the fucking car itself?

All Alpina does is modify cars. If I added a Rocket Bunny kit to an 86, does it make it an Anon brand car?

Clearly we need to design our own car symbol>>5456

Clearly we need our own brand and badge.

What happened to WAT?

9772eb No.5463

>>5456

If you became an incorporated company and sold it as an actual upgrade anyone could get for their 86, then yes, it technically would. Even more so if you included more drastic physical/performance changes. Look at the Switzer P800 for example, only a special someone would lump it in with the regular Nissan GT-R. Same goes for the Saleen SR and S281 not being a Mustang.

9772eb No.5464

>>5463

And ESPECIALLY if you sold a range of 86s with the upgrade pre-installed. Look at what Mine's and Nismo do for example.

ff4565 No.5468

>>5464

If all I did was add some aftermarket, then it's not my brand of car. My Fiero has parts from probably twenty different cars plus aftermarket, and it's still a Pontiac. Why even include Nismo? It's the same company.

942f5f No.5471

>>5463

A Hennessey venom is still a lotus Elise, so no, you're wrong.

942f5f No.5472

>>5463

Saleen mustangs are just that. A singer Porsche is a Porsche all the same. A Shelby mustang is a mustang.

What the fuck kind of stupid thread derailing is this, and what kind of stupid fucking arguments are these?

It's simple: what does the VIN say?

The Hennessey Venom has a lotus VIN, so it's a highly modded lotus. A Switzer GTR has a Nissan VIN, so it's a highly modded Nissan. Alpina have their own VINs, so technically they are Alpinas, even if they're built by BMW.

ff4565 No.5478

>>5477

I didn't actually think of that, props to you.

Would being on another manufacturers assembly line make any difference?

942f5f No.5480

>>5477

A Pontiac vibe has a Pontiac vin but it is a Toyota matrix.

5f33bd No.5482

>>5480

Colloquially, yes, but technically, the correct answer is "it's not that simple".

If you call a toyota dealer for any part that's a bit out of the ordinary, they'll tell you to ask GM, because some things don't fit, the vibe had a different powertrain/trim level structure, body electronics aren't compatible because of onstar, etc

fcf002 No.5493

I get one or two of those each year for the past 3 years. Toyota is good, but they have some serious airbag issues.

>Driver airbag isn't going off

>Recalled

>Now it's going off too easily

>Recalled

>Now it's going off properly, but it's exploding

>Recalled

>Now the passenger side isn't going off properly either

>Recalled

>Passenger side isn't going off now

>Recalled

>Now passenger side is going off too easily

>Current recall

Other than that, excellent car.
