So I've been thinking about buying a used truck as my first vehicle.

Somewhere around 2005s, later if can be, yet I don't know much about trucks.

Whats everyone's thoughts on a basic F150? I have some ideas in life that a truck would be very useful for, hence my interest.

Small trucks, big trucks, any ideas/discussion is fine.

Don't know much about F150s but the Tacomas we use at work are pretty nice and still run fine despite the abuse. We had a Ranger too until the tranny started going. Had around 250k miles on it though.

I was looking at rangers/and considering a Tacoma aswell.

What I want to ultimately do is get a side job as a snow plow and get pair to help people move stuff, make some money back for buying a truck pretty much.

But also I'm learning more self sufficiency in life, home repairs, agriculture etc, so a truck bed would be mighty fine to help me carry the things needed in this.

Oh and yeah I'm aware a ranger/tacoma won't have the power to plow things, but hey I'll take what I can get for a decent condition truck.

Isn't the Ranger is more at class with a Hilux than a Tacoma?

44a4c2 No.6868

>>6867

Not a clue, I just went by the sizes and figured they are pretty similar, I'm pretty new to trucks.

Who /ProfessionalGrade/ here?

decent, but the 2001+ GMs with 5.3 or 6.0 vortecs will outperform it in basically every way, especially if you ever plan to modify them in the future

>>6865

i have a 92 V6 3.0 2WD ranger i use sometimes, decent truck for light or medium work but not much use for towing or pulling any kind of decent weight

it also gets shitty gas mileage at around 17/22 compared to the newer 2.4 duratec trucks which have very similar performance

>2001+ GMs

Good to know, I've been hearing things about GM lately that personally made me skittish on buying a GM vehicle period, but I'll go over their offerings aswell.

Eh well it seems the only trucks that aren't buttfucking expensive are Rangers, Dakotas, small american trucks.

I looked up tacomas and they're almost twice the price of same year rangers.

>Muh Toyota/Honda resale value

deea3c No.6879

>>6878

Yea its crazy, you really might as well buy new since used price is so damn high.

Just get an old yoga, ranger, f150 if you just need a DD beater. If you need the balls to haul Shit for work then get a f250, ram 2500, or gm 2500 or larger.

Is there a particular reason you need a truck?

1f5bea No.6884

basically this

as far as using a truck for a snowplow, just get any older V8 pickup as its not going to last very long anyway

44a4c2 No.6885

>>6883

Well, I'm kinda downsizing my ideas now looking at larger truck prices, but really just something to haul some medium work stuff back and forth.

Like home repair things, planks and such.

But also suspension clearance is a plus around here.

Well here's the thing. Once you start using for non truck things you just be driving around on an oversized has guzzling vehicle.

But since you plan on light scrap wood tools and hardware I think you'll do fine with a light duty to a medium duty. Find a used 98 or newer ranger or tacoma. I wouldn't go new with trucks unless I know for certain I have the income to justify the payment and if I really need to haul big heavy items

Niggerwheels needs to optimize the site for mobile use.

>>6885

Also even better than a truck is a van. But the 4wd models are rare and pricey. If you do decide on a new vehicle consider a van. Nissan/Mercedes/Freightliner/Dodge/sprinter are making some really nice vans. I haven't driven in the new redesigned Ford's. But shouldn't differ much.

44a4c2 No.6889

>>6887

Yeah, I could try a SUV maybe, I suppose I best hurry and study home repair/modification.

I feel I must do this because there is ALWAYS a problem wit houses that could be way cheaper/fun if I just did it myself .

>>6888

A van might be pretty good too, I could take it camping…Vans are usually very cheap around here, probably because they're a unattractive.

586614 No.6890

>>6889

Well that's why I mentioned a used light duty beater truck. It'll get the job done and you don't have to worry about that paint scratch voiding your warranty

44a4c2 No.6891

>>6890

The lot I was gonna go to, I don't think I'd have to worry about that anyways.

Its kinda a ghetto lot, but my grandma has gone there since I was a kid, and I don't think they've ever ripped her off…Otherwise she wouldn't recommend it knowing her.

586614 No.6892

>>6891

If only go to a dealer if I'm garaunteed at least a 90 day warranty on the engine and drivetraims and if there's a good deal. Otherwise I prefer craigslist and private sales.

But if you are not experienced with cars, especially used car buying you'll need a car friend to tag along or family memeber or if you don't have any just go a trusted recommended stealership.

Sorry I meant dealership

44a4c2 No.6895

>>6892

Man I hardly have an idea on how to go about buying these things, my only option is either a loan or a stealership.

1f5bea No.6896

>>6895

youre better off buying a cheap beater if you have to, even 80s or 90s rather than going to a dealership

586614 No.6897

>>6895

Yeah that's the problem

Do you have any bros or family that are year heads?

Having someone experienced helps against scams and bad buys either private or dealer.

Where do you live maybe there's a faggot near you that can help.

586614 No.6898

>>6895

Or just go to a highly known large dealership. Not a corner lot but those big niggers with commercials or use carmax and auto trader

44a4c2 No.6907

>>6897

>>6898

>>6896

You see my only real problem is, I don't know if banks will give me a loan for private owned vehicles.

I think I can do pretty alright not getting ripped off.

I mean I could just sit and save, but sitting around with no where to go is driving me insane, rather sell my soul to kikes.

install Exodus

1f5bea No.6912

can you not save up $1500-2500 for a older beater?

if not you shouldnt be considering loans to begin with
