>Could use any fuel as long as it combusts, jet fuel, alcohol, biodiesel.etc
No nowadays thanks to California and tree hugging fags all over we will be restricted.
>Less moving parts/simpler design
Problem is how and where you use the product. Yes turbines are efficient but now you'll cram them on the ground, in traffic jams with salt, rocks and other road debris plus constant spool up and down
>Remarkably efficient for its time
Again of you want be on par with today's technology you'll need to design accordingly. We have advanced from Idaho russet potatoes to red potatoes. And with the epa, ihis and manufacturers imposing strict regulations we will probably end up with some crazy nuclear backed system.
>no antifreeze
Well in a traffic jam and jammed inside a small space surrounded by insulation you'll need to cool that baby down
>no need for oil changes
Of course you do. With all the debris on the road plus the lighter weight material used in manufacturing oil will become saturated with contaminants more frequently.
Now I'm not saying it's a bad idea. But there's no demand for it. There's plenty oil, no need for more power and the EPA is happy with the 12 cat converters new cars come equpped with.
