New Management II

The last board owner went AWOL, so I've come to personally take of this board myself. I've deleted a few posts because:

1. No one was replying.

2. They added nothing.

Repost it if you feel cheated (IDGAF).

——————

Lets see if I can condense this. I agree that it's a shame niche boards like this go unused. I'm uncertain if I can inject some new life into it but here we go:

I curate my own library. You may or may not have seen it passed around here or on /fringe/. It's broken into sections covering everything from beginner's stuff to specialist material. It goes up and down. This will give me a decent place to keep track of it.

https://mega.nz/#F!AE5yjIqB!y7Vdxdb5pbNsi2O3zyq9KQ

The largest attraction for it right now is that it's probably the only place you're going to find the Warburg scans for a while.

Up next I'll post some links and resources, and just copy/paste the old rules, as they definitely apply.

If anyone thinks the old stickies should go back up, feel free to chime in and I'll pin them back up top, otherwise, they're still in the catalog for the foreseeable future.

Thelema

93

Hello, /occult/. Trying to help revive a dead board here.

Anyone interested in Thelema or, in a broader sense, the works of Aleister Crowley. I often see it/him disparaged on /x/ and /fringe/. I never understood why. It is a marginally "popular" current of occultism and thus attracts a lot of people of varying quality. But I don't think a system should be judged by the failings of its practitioners.

For those unfamiliar or interested in learning more, most works are available online or easily found through torrents.

Where I Started

It really pains me to see this board unused considering I'm the one who asked for it's creation. To remedy this I'm going to try and kick some life into this place by talking about some easy starting texts and resources I use that you can find online.

https://mega.co.nz/#F!C5wQ1JqZ!ics3BJ1RrVWtCOpA1XZyqw

^This is the grand daddy of all text and manual dumps, about a years worth of reading on most of the widely used books and techniques used by Magickal Operators. I would say start with the beginner tab which has a lot of Israel Regardie and Dion Fortune on basic ritual construction, an introduction to The Philosophy of Magick as well as some manuals by Aleister Crowley, and some yoga + some symbol, myth and ritual guides a swell as an intro to chaos magick.

If you are not really interested in Ritual Magick or Results Orientated Magick but want an experience of self realization, or more accurately Consciousness Change go to the same Mega Upload File and go to Robert Anton Wilson and find PROMETHEUS RISES for a basic (if not somewhat outdated) map to your basic brain and how it affects the decisions you make and your conscious actions. Through a process called Nuero-linguistic programming you can affect your habits and retrain your brain, a skill that is absolutely essential to the success of an elaborate ritual to enact a large change or just getting in the mindset to not be NEET fuck.

Just wanted to make a post re: the Occult themed IRC channel that originally spawned on /x/. It's been in a bit of a quiet period and I figured with a new board around I'd post it and see if anyone's interested.

It's #thelema on Rizon. There's another not really related channel but that if you come at the right time will be worth being there, which is #hermetica.

Just hoping to get some new blood so we can have decent discussions again.

Ps. Hopefully someone gets why the image is funny.

Dr. Rudolf Steiner / Anthroposophy

As far I can see you only have two books from Dr. Rudolf Steiner in your mega. You put them in the Theosophy folder as well which is kind of misleading. How about a Anthroposophy folder?

I could provide some books for it.

I l add a pdf I found on my hard drive that connects some to the dots of the history of occult societies in Europe quite well. I haven´t read the whole text nor do I agree with all what is written there but please don´t put Dr. Steiner and in the Theosophy folder…

A good introduction would be his autobiography "The Story of my Life".

Occult General

i was just wondering, what is your occult practice? have you performed any magick? do you have a scientific theory on how and why it exists (i am implying you have a belief in the occult), what works for you and what does not work? what is with the satanic themes in mainstream media? have you ever met anyone who claims they have supernatural abilities (could they prove it?). also occult general thread.

Hello, I'm not new to occultism, but I never had chance to plumb it.

What are possible real benefits from occult rituals?

Are there math-accurate/always giving the same results occult systems?

Are rituals/beliefs/etc. created, made up or actually discovered? If not the last then how does one create a ritual?

Meditation Thread

What kinds of meditations do you guys do?

Personally, I have a pretty solid routine that seems to work pretty well for now. I start by aligning my chakras and trying to clear my mind a bit. Then I begin breathing in for 4-6 seconds, holding my breath for 4-6 seconds, and exhaling for 4-6 seconds. While I'm doing this I also 'breathe' in energy with my body during my inhale like a sponge soaking up water. Then when I exhale, I make all the energy rush to the top of my head around my crown chakra. After doing this for long enough I have really intense head rushes when I divert the energy to my head, and I can get into a very deep trance after 40 minutes or so. It's very refreshing.

Inhale Exhale

In the Middle Pillar ritual, as described by Regardie, he mentions circulation from Malkuth up to Kether as an inhale and Kether down to Malkuth as an exhale.

I would've thought it'd be opposite - as in, inhale (inspiration) from Kether and exhale (expiration) from Malkuth, generally?

Can either be used, with different purposes? If so, anyone care to elaborate on how they use/interpret this?

Personally, I actually find inhaling from Malkuth to give better results, so far as feelings of well-being go (makes one feel taller), but according to Blavatsky (IIRC), one should always draw first from Kether.

Come on now mundane, you can do better than that

>he advocates the likes of Crowley
>he thinks British occultists like Israel Regardie and Dion Fortune are shit (I think I might like her book on magical thoughtforms though when I'm done reading it, we'll see… and the psychic self-defence book might not turn out to be all that bad too but I have low expectations for it, it'll probably be underwhelming)
>he promotes ritual magick as a starting point into the occult when ritual really is to support a process and not the whole of the work
>he also likes RAW and probably Austin Osman Spare although I don't see you mentioning the later
>he never mentions Phil Hine as an introductory author, even though he's actually a pretty based introduction
>no mention of Hermeticism
>most of what you're promoting is post-modernist, existential, psychological, etc. based models of magick
>most of it also LHP, sex and drugs, degenerate magick
>no ascetic master race magick
>not that LHP is bad just the sex and drugs part, the killing and torture is fine

Get on my level.

Rituals and Weed

Has anyone even noticed an increase in intensity of ritualistic effect when under the influence of drugs and, in particular, cannabis?

I've noticed that when doing the LBRP I almost get knocked over while vibrating the God names. However, when sober, the effect is decreased substantially.

Middle Pillar Ritual is similar. As soon as I vibrate (even if only mentally) AHYH I get an intense buzzing in Kether which, if continued, makes it feel as though my head is going to explode. Because of this, I usually only repeat this vibration once and proceed onto the other areas as per normal. I'm curious as to what might happen if I were to continue with Kether, but have always chickened out due to the discomfort it causes.

I theorise that this might have to do with making oneself grow on the astral (in Regardie's instructions, this usually precedes the LBRP) and suspect that marijuana might automatically induce this, given that it amplifies one's senses. (On that note, should this exercise also precede the Middle Pillar?)

Anyone else know what might be happening here? Any theories?

Banners

If anyone has any banners they would like to see go up, post them here and I'll put them up if they're at least somewhat relevant and look nice.

I just made one to replace the default. Let me know what you think of it.

Random occult dump

How about we dump some random occult images/tutorials and - perhaps in the distant future - sort them for some sake? I have few pics someone might find interesting

Ah mother fuck, here's the occult board. Gotcha.

Siddhi / Perfection of Language

I'm hoping that someone here can help me. I have been looking for information about an occult ability which allows the practitioner to understand any language. I study Indo-Tibetan esoteric practices as well as Shamanic and Animistic belief systems and have found very little. I have read about it previously as being a Siddhi, but cannot find any infomation as of now. In return I can contribute to any questions related to Tibetan and some Shamanic practices. Thanks!

Alchemy

Can anyone tell me about alchemy? I've done some research into it and out of all the magickal practices it seems the most logical, and I'm considering trying it. So, has anyone here tried it? Or does anyone know about it?

/occult/ is a board dedicated to alternative or occult spirituality, occultism, and the practice and study of magick. We focus on the discussion of literature and act as an occult library of sorts. Please read the rules below before posting.
