I have created rituals before, though the only one to work was heavy on thought out symbology. Real benefits from rituals are seeing intended results.

No. Everyone has a unique cognitive map, a unique history of accumulated past-lives, etc. and as such the journey is different for everyone. Refer yourself to The Stellar Man by John Baines for why.

I am able to construct rituals from scratch for anything and intuitively understand them and know how to make them work. When you really understand magick and ritual you don't need any of the stupid guides that describe a specific ritual that keep getting posted and which are quite worthless. Any problem at all, I can design a solution for it.

Think of beliefs and rituals as similar to early chemistry. We didn't quite know why certain reactions happened, but we could venture guesses and study.

The thing about an intuitive art such as magick is that the mixture of "chemicals" keeps changing. We have to keep up with the current and flow along with it to be able to work it properly.

As you understand them more, rituals terms to be more effective, as you are now connecting more directly to the source of the power that fuels your magick.

Alot of magic is about being in the right mindset to use universal energies. A ritual is such a broad term. I'll give three different ones just keep in mind that there is much more out there.

1. You have no idea how to channel energy or talk to spirits. So you follow the instructions lighting some candles and saying word for word what is written on the "spell".

You have basically performed a visualisation without knowing it and projected your desire to the universe. If it feels like giving it to you, you can expect to see it happen at some point down the road in a method of it's choosing. The whole of following the spell was to put you in the right state of mind.

2. You need to get rid of some spirit or entity that has decided to start messing around with some person. You grab the sage and light that bitch up. The sage cleans your aura and allows you to channel energy easier due to not having a psychic blockage. you create a energy construct to use as a tool against it and go deal with it.

3. You need to channel more energy than your chakra network could handle on it's own. You make a magic circle designed before hand or fall on you that you usually use. the shaped energy and planned circle program act to channel and contain energy from where ever you're drawing it from. you then go through with whatever it is your planning to do and hope that it holds.

I honestly don't bother with any kind of ritual except for the third one. Once you learn to channel a reasonable amount of energy by yourself without any higher level help you are basically golden.

Sometimes it is fun though to get dressed up and make a big deal out of it.
