For the same reason we should not allow birth control or abortion. It will take many Christian babies to out-breed the corrupted believers of Islam and Mormonism. By sheer numbers we will go from "faithful generations, to generations of faith," even if our conversion rates have gone down.
One of the purposes of Christianity is to usher in the end of the world. Armageddon & Jesus's 2nd coming willl only come when all nations have heard the word, and since as Christians we want the end of the world to happen sooner, we have a moral duty to protect the prophecies by making sure Israel survives even if it means making many babies to fight their wars.
How can we predict what God has in store for our babies?
All babies have a purpose, and if you can't raise a child you shouldn't have sex or even masturbate with the tools he gave you for your whole life. Even sickly & retarded babies have purposes unknown to us, even if their whole purpose is to amuse God when they stupidly fall down empty elevator shafts and die.
