Not for global vols afaik, and you know how IRC is for all of these sites.
>someone with position on other sites lurks moar in IRC
>sucks all the right IRC dicks

Go down that rabbit hole and you see how connected people who vol hard online really are. There are only so many communities you find these cliques at and certain circles have a wide scope of access to privileged info via their vol positions and gathered friendships. One breadcrumb and they can dig you up on any other site they have a connection to, and out pop more breadcrumbs.
And that's not even mentioning imagehosts, URL shorteners, and other services you probably don't even think about. Shit, even Twitter's abuse department and social connections there were called into question not so long ago.
The point is your data isn't segregated onto just one site. Any single data point point which any two sites share can be used to dig you up and see where else you post and what you post, who your friends are, and anything else. There's kind of a multiplier effect with each additional site or account where the sum of the two adds up to additional info. Then there's still your friends and contacts on any given site, who will never be as concerned with your privacy as you are.
8chan is high profile to the type of dedicated nerdy internet flamewar types who know how to tap vol positions all over and nurture IRC relationships to gain infos. And that's on any side of any internet bullshit, the most notable here being GG and anti-GG, but lets face it, there are plenty of circles out there who would have motive to maneuver themselves an 8chan position. If I was a betting anon, I'd wager that there are moles in 8chan.
It's only tinfoil until you realize 100% of this kind of thing is just social maneuvering, and online that's a very easy thing to do. It doesn't take a lot of effort to lurk an IRC channel 24/7 for months and laugh at some faggot's jokes occasionally until they bond with you. That's what vol collectors do. They don't just run into some place screaming their political motivations or where else they vol. They sit, friend, volunteer, and then nothing happens. No fireworks. No drama. Maybe they collect logs, maybe they look up user data, maybe they sabotage or create internal drama, or maybe they just like having power, but most of the time you'll never know they don't have the user's best interests in mind.
I don't at all think HW's social infrastructure is immune to this and I doubt they haven't been infiltrated. That's just my opinion though. I'm not really in the know on jack shit, but it's not far fetched speculation.
