But there seems to be a bug where replacing the flags constantly, causes you to hit the limit faster.

There's actually more than there appears, that picture is outdated, it's roughly 455; it's kind of hard to keep track of because I use the same image multiple times in certain instances so that's my best estimate.

I don't recall;I just tried it now and it seemed fine. Before the fix I would get a 502 error that lasted roughly 2-3 minutes when performing just about any mod action, but I think flags were actually excluded from that, though.

Well i don't think the failed migrations had much to do with it. When you were replacing your flags, they simply weren't deleting properly. thus causing you to hit the limit.

So copypaste simply decided to delete everything in your flag dir that wasn't in your current flags. I hope that helped.

I'll just note that the error could be a 502, 503, etc. But in any case please let me know if you ever come across an error like that when you're deleting flags.

This time I know exactly what I was doing when the problem occurred though. I'd uploaded an image that was too large on accident (21px), saved the image at the correct size, reselected the new file and attempted to upload it. I received a 404 error and they were all gone. This may have been what caused them to be deleted the first time so I don't think it's a coincidence. Hopefully that helps somebody prevent this from happening to them.

I'm willing to either delete them myself if necessary - or he can delete them if it's something he can do easily as well. A clean slate when we don't really know what's causing this problem might be ideal I suppose.

The deed is done; whether absolutely necessary or not, I've cleared the flags yet again.

There were flags in there the first time he'd done it as well; there are less than 512 flags total so I assume that despite them being deleted by the error, a record is kept for them in the directory or something, precluding the addition of further flags beyond those that were available before the error (for example, if you had 500 flags uploaded and they were wiped by this error, you could upload 12 until hitting the "too many flags" limit). Due to the intractable, mysterious nature of this problem I think deleting them was probably for the best. Please ask Hotwheels to flush the directory at his convenience, thanks in advance.

We need to close the /4chon/ border until we can figure out what the hell is going on. Early 404 is active. Most any threads that are getting deleted are ones that have few participants within a day or two and I feel that's for the better. Due to the less overall exposure threads will receive in general under these settings we are also being more mindful about necrobumping, flooding, and so on as consequence.
