Browsing some threads makes you realise why other chan scripts have a bump limit.
Some threads become too long and take forever to load, especially if they are filled with embedded content.
How about implementing a "more" JS script that loads the page in sections?
Not sure if that's easier or harder on the server but it will definitely improve the browsing experience.
The problem from the client perspective is that the browser does not render the stuff until the GET request is finished so I'm waiting for 5 secs before the page finally loads. If you load the first few posts and then render and then load the remaining with JS request it would be better.
