There's a possibility that Jim is unaware of the state of 8chan. Remember, the main reason he keeps 8chan running is to make it a strong competitor to 4chan, and a falling userbase due to negligence is antithetical to that goal. If you write him a nice e-mail about how Fredrick has neglected to involve anyone outside of his IRC channel with the development of vichan, let alone communicate with anyone outside IRC, Jim might be able to put some pressure on him to get more developers who actually care about this site involved.
