Here's an extremely easy way of getting into IRC (would be nice if included in the sticky as well):
1. Go to https://kiwiirc.com/client
2. Click on Server and network to expand it (highlighted in red, see pic related)
3. Type a nickname for yourself in the Nickname box
4. Type #opnei in the Channel box
5. Type nl.chatjunkies.org in the Server box
6. Leave the Port as is and click Start

/opnei/ has very few of its own rules, so here you go:
1. Do not advertise your board here. If you want to suggest an 'alliance' with /opnei/, email patriarchy@airmail.cc

3. Links to articles on news sites/links to social media accounts, etc MUST be archived. Do NOT send people directly to the page. (https://archive.is)

Saying an opinion is right/wrong or that something is good/bad without justification is frowned upon. This rule exists to inspire a culture where users expect arguments from posters, to prevent viral marketeers/shills and also to prevent people from making accusations of them.
(However, shitposting is allowed given that it is obvious, and you can say whatever you want about tumblr and its users.)

-Opted into 8archive.moe (Still broken though)
-Added Oekaki
-Removed duplicate image restriction
-SWF files now allowed
-PDF files now allowed
-Tor users can now upload files/images
-Changed minimum OP text limit from 0 to 50
-Pages with less than 10 replies will now 404 at page 5 instead of page 15. This is to prevent spam.
If any of this is abused then the abuser will be banned and the setting will be restricted or changed back.
