I created a side blog named That Fucking Catâ„¢ Archives (http://tfc-archives.tumblr.com), it consists of nothing but reblogs for archiving purposes.
>What is it good for?
When you write a post and later on delete it or get your account terminated, this post still remains on Tumblr's servers, in the form of reblogs. If I reblog a post from someone and he gets banned, the post disappears from his (terminated) blog but still exists on my (active) blog… Other people can view this post and reblog it again.
>How is this any different from actual archiving websites (e.g. https://archive.is)?
The difference is that you can't reblog posts from an archive, but you can from an actual blog.
>Do all posts survive?
No. Some "extreme" posts like gore pictures and NSFW shoops of tumblrinas' personal photos are often specifically selected by the website staff and permanently deleted, along with every reblog of them.
But other than that the staff usually takes the easy way of terminating your whole blog.
>What type of posts get archived?
Mostly posts that show tumblrina stupidity and general lulz, but good arguments and posts with relevant sources are also archived.
>Can I submit posts to be archived?
Yes. You can send their links to me using the submission button on the blog, it's titled "Send lulz here".
Or just go directly here: http://tfc-archives.tumblr.com/submit
>Is the archiving process automated?
No. I manually archive posts and am not available 24/7, please be patient when submitting posts.
>Why don't you write your own posts?
To leave no room for the blog to get deleted. The website staff cannot terminate a blog over some reblogs, but can do it over original posts… Every post is the responsibility of its original poster (OP) and not the users who reblog it.
