What can EA do to make Need for lSpeed a decent franchise again?

IMO The series went to shit after Carbon, with Shift and Hot Pursuit 2010 being slightly better than garbage like The Run and Most Wanted 2012.

Funny, I thought it all went to hell after Undercover.

But there are two way's to approach this issue.
1} Old-school playboys in expensive-to-ludicrously-expensive Sportscars and Supercars with the odd concept car in there for good measure. The racing could be done on circuits with semi-arcade driving physics and keen eye for the details of places. Maybe have cops with Napalm dropping helicopters.

2)Post FnF racer in cheep-to-marginally-unobtainable Shitboxes and Sports cars With some muscle cars in there good measure. The racing would be in an open fictional world (with no shitty brown filters or bloom to the point of it being a practical joke). The physics too would be arcady as fuck and the cars would have tonnes of customization (Individual bumpers, sideskirts, overfenders, wings/spoilers, choptop option, full body kits, wide selection of rims) all with autosculpt. Cops could be included too, and a day and night cycle (certain events only take place at certain time, 24/7 events would have trade offs of less cops during the day, but heavy traffic, while night races have less traffic but more police presence.

But EA will probably keep making half breeds that don't know what they are.

Stop trying to make the series a Hollywood movie/a Burnout clone.
Someone's going to say this eventually so might as well get it out there now: remake Underground. Make it open world with tons of shitboxes and body kit options
Maybe as an easter egg or something a concept car or two can appear

Honestly, I think Test Drive Unlimited is the direction that the NFS Franchise should take to become respected again. A vehicle selection that ranges from hatchbacks all the way to one-off race homologation specials. Tasteful customization for nicer cars, using only bodykits that exist in real life such as Mansory.

There would be a wide range of race types, from legit racing on closed courses, to illicit courses that the threat of police is always present. This game would also have a day-night cycle and dynamic weather. There would of course also be a quick arcade mode and a choice of physics which can be changed at any time, from classic NFS where damage doesn't exist, your car weighs 10 tonnes and you reset upon flipping, to a full-on simulation where it is possible to total your car from causing too much damage.

If done right, this would settle everyone in the NFS fanbase. Everyone.

Yeah, they have made some terrible designs over the years but even their worst modification is better than the shit EA designed. In my idea, you could also choose to get new parts from tuner brands such as Gemballa or Koenig. My point is it all exists in reality, so the parts actually function aerodynamically and don't look like crap.

So, turn it into Midnight Club 3/LA?

Are you implying that isn't desirable? Cause I'd take that over what EA would actually do

Hell no. I loved the later Midnight Club games.

Hell, Midnight Club LA with better AI would have been an ideal street racing game. And maybe a difficulty slider.

Even though it was hard as hell to just STEER in the late game. And I ended up getting the million dollars by selling my entire garage, buying a cheap shitbox to go hand the money in, then buying everything back again for free.
