Here is a broad overview of his stance on major issues: http://www.ontheissues.org/Rand_Paul.htm

Webm related: Start of Rand's 13 hour fillibuster of John Brennan's nomination as CIA director, in which he talks about the constitutionality of drone strikes.

WELCOME TO /PAUL2016/

This is the board dedicated to getting Rand Paul elected as the next President of the United States.

This means brainstorming ways to first get him to win the Republican nomination the hardest battle imo and then onto the general election. How to do this? By spreading the message. Making graphics. Getting involved with your state's primary or caucus. Any constructive ideas on how to accomplish our goal is welcome.

This will probably be a pretty slow board, so off-topic won't be looked down upon as long as this place doesn't become shitposting central. For your politics fix I'd suggest either >>>/pol/ for high-volume and >>>/polpol/ for high-quality political discussion.

Rules are located at http://8ch.net/paul2016/rules.html. Please read them. Swf and pdf uploading is allowed, and custom flags are a possibility if there's high interest.

General Rand Paul thread.

We're in early stages right now, but there's a lot you can do to help usher in a Paul presidency.

1. Create OC. Today's elections are wars of information. Disseminating Paul's views in a reader-friendly format is a valuable way to get the message out to people who might otherwise not spend a great deal of time becoming invested in politics.

2. Battle the disinfo. Paul has many detractors from both inside and outside of his party. They tend to paint him as a crazy isolationist with no chance of success in order to discourage people from voting for him. Make sure to respond with well-linked sources and remember to explain the difference between isolationist and non-interventionist (Think North Korea vs. Switzerland).

3. The primary. Ultimately, a goal I see for this board is to try to get as many of us to participate in our home state primaries as possible. The primary battle will be very difficult in 2016 and in my opinion will be the toughest challenge a Paul presidency will have to overcome. Learn as much as possible about primary/caucus procedure as possible so we can come up with strategies to help him win.

TL;DR: Spread the message. Get involved.

What is your counter?

5b9e40 No.62

If you're trying to facilitate a political discussion, it would be best to first explain what your stance on the TPP is, along with good documentation to back up your thesis.

Once ground rules have been established, and all participants have common knowledge of the material being discussed, then an effective debate can be had.

>There’s an important issue out there you may never have heard of, which is just what its proponents would like. That’s the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), currently being pushed by the Obama administration and its corporate (and mostly Republican!) allies. It’s a blatant attack on labor, farmers, food safety, public health and even national sovereignty.

>And the details of the deal are largely secret. Other than what’s been leaked, the public has no access to its contents, and even members of Congress don’t know much. (On the other hand, “cleared advisers,” mostly corporate lawyers, have full access.) That’s because the TPP is way too important to its sponsors to allow little details like congressional or public input to get in its way, even though constitutional authority over trade is granted to the legislative, not the executive, branch.

{snip}

>The TPP is little more than enhanced corporation power branded as free trade. It gives corporations the right to challenge government regulations and seek compensation if they think they’ve been treated unfairly by any of the 12 Pacific Rim nations in the deal. (China is currently, but not necessarily permanently, excluded; part of the thinking behind the TPP is to lock up an agreement with these partners before China does.)

{snip}

>The agreement would even allow countries to challenge one another’s laws, so that “equivalency” may simply mean that the least powerful regulations become the norm. The United States would have no special standing: If our laws are seen as restraining trade or limiting profits, they could be challenged in special courts, per the TPP’s “investor state” clause. Philip Morris is suing Uruguay over that country’s antismoking laws under just such circumstances; there are several examples of American companies’ flouting local laws and citing trade agreements as an excuse; and Mexico has been sued repeatedly for theoretically diminishing investor profits.

36a623 No.67

>>66

>Historically, trade laws were geared to enrich the “mother” country — look at the 19th-century Opium Wars in China, which forced open illegal markets so Britain and its allies could benefit. Between World War II and the 1990s, free trade arguably benefited the economies of the countries involved. But the new laws, starting with 1994’s North American Free Trade Agreement (Nafta), recognized that capital is now mobile — it doesn’t “live” anywhere — and owes no allegiance to any flag; only shareholders matter.

>Nafta is the paradigm of what are most accurately called deregulation deals. It promised better jobs in both the United States and Mexico. Instead, as well-paid workers in the United States were losing jobs to worse-paid workers in Mexico, badly paid Mexican workers were losing jobs to worse-paid workers in China, which in turn put more pressure on workers in the United States.

>In fact, if you wanted to single out a culprit for income stagnation and the decline of the power of labor in the United States, Nafta would be a good candidate. It allowed large corporations to move where tax breaks were best and environmental regulations weakest, while forcing labor to compete against lower global wages. While likely not the only cause, since its passage collective and individual gains have been nearly frozen in Mexico; in the United States, the story is much the same.

36a623 No.68

>>67

>Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich called the TPP “Nafta on steroids” (“corporate coup d’état” is also good). As the economist Dean Baker said to Bill Moyers, “This really is a deal that’s being negotiated by corporations for corporations, and any benefit it provides to the bulk of the population of this country will be purely incidental.” At this point, nothing about Obama should surprise us, but it’s worth noting that in 2008, as a presidential candidate, he said, “I voted against Cafta, never supported Nafta, and will not support Nafta-style trade agreements in the future.”

>All of which is making for some very odd alliances and demonstrating that “far right” and “far left” labels are increasingly useless. That’s because this is a struggle between transnational corporations and just about everyone else.

>Of course, some Republican opposition could be crafty positioning, so that when the TPP is found to cost jobs and endanger public health rather than create them and assure it, cynics could simply say, “I told you so.” But in this case Obama has asked for the bad publicity. And although Hillary Clinton’s husband was the architect of this kind of policy, and she worked hard for the TPP while secretary of state, she’s now backing away from what may well be a losing proposition.

>That’s the good news: The opposition to fast-tracking appears strong. As Patrick Woodall, a senior policy advocate for Food & Water Watch, said to me, “The forces pushing fast-track are huge, but there is unbelievable public opposition, and at this point the wind is at our back.”

Rand Paul always seemed kind of off to me, and I thought long and hard about why until I realized, he looks exactly like Sutter Cane from the 1994 John Carpenter film, In the Mouth of Madness. Look at this shot where he stands in front of the metaphorical door between our world and the lovecraftian abyss, they're the exact same guy. I'm scared for what will happen if Rand gets elected president.

First off, there's your problem.

Second, the only source for the supposed kidnapping is some anonymous woman without any evidence.

I'm loathe to delete posts (even from shills) and unless it becomes a major issue I most likely won't do so. I encourage you to self-moderate by ignoring/hiding threads if you don't feel like arguing with the shills.

Note to Anti-Rand Shills:

Spamming is against the rules of this board. The so-called Ultimate Redpill on Rand has already been posted in a sticky by some butthurt stormfag so I will remove any duplicates that I see.

Will he carry out his father's legacy in making anime(and by extension, my waifu) real?

I'm sold on most of his other platforms but this could make me vote for him every election ever until the end of time even when he's dead.

Ironically he incidentally will. Or as real as 2d ever will be.

If shillary gets into office, she'll remove 2d along with anything worth waifuing.

Posting here is all well and good, but ultimately we want to convince others outside of 8chan to vote for Paul. The purpose of this thread is simply to list active political forums on the web where we can post support for Paul and get a sense for what people are saying about all of the different candidates, in order to make our message more effective.

Format should be:

Name: Politics Forum
URL: http://www.politicsforum.org/forum/
Ideology: Varied

Any ideology is fine, we need to know what the leftists are saying if we want to beat them, after all.

Propaganda Thread

Come on you NEET faggots, you spend all day in the basement so you have plenty of time to make some awesome videos to support Randy.

Here's something I threw together, taking 'The Lion' and just pasting some different clips of Rand over Hitler. Easy.

If we want any chance of a Paul 2016 we need to get people on board:- and fast.

So get off your fat ass, open a youtube tutorial, torrent some editing software and get to fucking work.

So we already know that most young people/women/minorities will be voting for Shillary, since they believe she's the "best" for her stances on "equality" and whatnot. How do we convince them that she's only going to tear this country apart further? Even if Rand Paul isn't running, I sure as fuck don't want Shillary in office.

For starters, his track record on individual rights, including privacy, gun rights, and free speech is far and away better than every other candidate.

Him and Cruz are the only two who went after the NSA after the Snowden leaks, but Paul wanted much more real reform than Cruz did on the matter.

He has repeatedly expressed support for the second amendment, and voted against any federal gun control measure that has been brought to a vote.

He believes the War on Drugs is unwinnable and a huge waste of tax dollars.

Fillibustered for 13 hours in opposition to our foreign drone strike policy, and takes a non-interventionist approach to foreign policy. Aka he doesn't want America to be the world police.

He wants to audit the FED

Just figured I'd throw my support in and say that those are some sexy opinions. He may not be capable of making anime real, and it's a damn shame to take someone like him out of Congress, but he's the President this country needs.
