Reading a computer screen is so uncomfortable. I would rather curl up cosy under my blanket and relax my eyes rather then straining them and sitting in some stiff office chair covered in cum stains.

68b068 No.2841

And why haven't you bought an e-reader? Get an e-ink reader with a background light option.

Not OP, but I do agree with him. So I've been thinking about buying a kindle or something similar. What are the benefits of e-readers to computer screens?

c93c96 No.2844

Same position as OP. What e-readers can you guys recommend.

I am using a kindle paperwhite and really am in love with it.

The brightnes can be perfectly adjusted so that

you can read mid night without getting your eyes

burned out and with 1gb you can store a good

amount of reading material on it.

Got it for 70 bucks so I think I made a good deal.

I have to admit that I didn't research long if there

are better alternatives so you might want to do that

but I definitly am not regretting my purchase.

Get an ebook reader, faggot. Decent ones with matte screen are only about $70USD.

ereaders are easier to read for extended periods of time because the matte screen makes it more like reading an actual book. Less strain on the eyes.

feb713 No.2876

I'm looking for an ereader with no wireless connectivity or extra bullshit like online stores, a good quality high res backlit screen and lots of internal storage or at least SD card support. I'd also prefer it to be water/dust/abuse proof, but it's not a dealbreaker if everything else is good. Any recommendations?

a9ae79 No.2879

Are you tellin me that you don't convert your pdfs and then read them on an e-reader?

What do you do? Stare at the computer for 3hrs?

yokes enjoy raping your eyeballs

>sitting in some stiff office chair covered in cum stains

Jesus dude, where do you work?

please don't say a preschool

95225a No.2900

Why don't you print PDFs off? Take the flash drive to a copy store and have them print it on the appropriate paper size. They can also cut the paper for you. It's cheap.

I don't have an ereader though, maybe I'm just behind the times. Turning a page is a lot less annoying than swiping a screen that emulates a page turning.

just get a paperwhite and do not connect it to the internet.

problem solved.

af895e No.2905

wait hi res backlit?

then kindle fire is the most stripped down you're going to get.

unless you read pdfs on some extremely janky chinese knockoff tablet.

They are there to make money. They don't give a fuck what you are printing.

95225a No.2912

>>2906

They do not know if you purchased the file or not.

ec2b15 No.2935

e-ink tablet is good for proper ebooks like epub and mobi format but you may have problems with the pdfs, particularly those that are nothing more than scans (older books and textbooks especially).

To make PDF reading more comfy, I would invest in a conventional 10" tablet, drop the brightness to minimum and run F.lux to filter out all the blue light (pretty much the source of your discomfort). Windows tablets are cheapest and easiest to get F.lux up and running.

I try to do most of my reading on the Kindle (particularly fiction), but until Amazon or someone else makes a high-dpi ~10" e-ink tablet with a decent CPU, I will continue to rely on a conventional tablet for the enormous amount of PDF's I have.

just use calibre to convert it to .mobi

I just bought a kindle paper white 3 and it handles pdfs with no problem. Thing with mobi is that you can resize the text, but you cant with pdfs. The text is usually alright to read but if it's too small, reading horizontally has enlarged it enough to be comfortable.

This checks your boxes, it does have wifi and a store but you don't have to set it up, just use calibre.

I recommend you use f.lux OP.It changes your PCs lighting so its less aggravatingly blue.It takes some time to get used to it but after you do,the normal screen will make your eyes explode.

Buy a ~6' smartphone, install Moon+ Reader and you're good to go.

ab05a9 No.3116

This is exactly what I do. Plus on Kindles if you are not connected to the net (and you didn't pay extra to get the version without ads on your sleep screen), you don't deal with ads
