You don't have to go to a shrink ONLY to have something "cured". If it's causing you distress and you want it to be at least somewhat suppressed, it's worth getting help.

Look for a psychologist in your area that specializes in treating sex offenders. You don't need to have been convicted of a crime to seek help from them.

Laws vary across the nation, and if you live outside the USA I have no idea what the laws about reporting are. Also, since you're only 17, I don't know what they can or can't tell your parents.

Most psychologists/psychiatrists are bound by doctor/patient confidentiality laws. In general, if you're not a harm to yourself or others, they can't report you.

Never tell them something like "I fantasize about my 10yo next door neighbor and I'm thinking about breaking into her house and stealing her panties."

What you can say is "I fantasize about breaking into houses and stealing little girl's panties."

Keep it general, not specific. Never admit to having a plan to commit a crime. They are required by law to report that.

the doc wont give it to you until he herds you to explicitly say that you want treatment because you X,Y,Z,ETC, at which point he will reveal that the treatment is chemical castration and in your case it just became compulsory.

NO. you would be gambling on how much your doctor hates pedo's. And confessing to a crime you already committed and didn't get caught for could be something he has to report.

The answer depends on where you are.

In some places, your discussion is confidential. In others, they are required by law to report you. In at least some places in the USA, psychologists are required to report you to police. I don't know whether it is the entire USA.

Many schools of psychologists are less knowledgeable about pedophiles than pedophile groups, so it would make sense to seek contact with pedophiles or find good (rather than bad) literature instead.

I would place my bets on one from the Albert Ellis school as being more enlightened.

You may wish to approach an evaluation from the other angle and see what their affiliations and school of teaching is and whether it is negative.

Another resource would be the Kink-Aware Therapist list. Although I don't consider girls as young as 10 to be a kink, they are probably more open minded in general.
