By doing "The Work" as laid out by George Gurdjieff. You got a build your soul to go on to the afterlife.

By being-in-the-world, of course.

>>385Human seems quite strongly biologically associated, and invites little dispute. Perhaps you meant "humane"? Or "human" as in "a good/decent/true Human Being"?
But why not ask: How can a human become a person? Is a biological human in a coma a "person"? Is a brainwashed child with no authentic thoughts a "person"? Or can they merely become one?

I would say that everyone is a human. This is just a term for our species.
A person, however, must posses somewhat of a personality, attributes, emotional experiences (Humans experience these too, but do not understand them.)
But, the question is wrong. It should be how can a human become a person?
And then, it would depend on what their values, what they believe is "progressive", in their society or culture.

>>761I have to agree with OP on this one. Needs a bit of rephrasing or clarification.

>>429I just started rereading Psychology of Man's Possible Evolution by Ouspensky and plan to reread some Gurdjieff books too. Then I need to start on Beelzebub since I've never taken the time to read that.
Do you work or study with a group or solo? I want to work on my own but Gurdjieff always stressed the need for a school/teacher. I think he said work was impossible without, my concern is these modern "schools" may not be genuine.
