Carl Jung's 16 personality type test is said to be accurate and concise, I want to know what you people are like. I'm an INTP.

1a5c35 No.810

Philosophy attracts the self-critical. The 4 philosophy instructors I've had don't strike me as anything introverted, one of them is annoyingly extroverted and won't shut up about his sex life and how great masturbation is and Christianity sucks.

1a5c35 No.811

>You are one of the Diplomats - an empathic and idealistic individual who enjoys exploring interesting ideas and prizes morality. You are known for your deep thoughts, strong will and intuitive skills

>idealist

>prioritizing morality

Couldn't be further from the truth.

These types are worth about as much as your newspaper horoscope. In fact I'd wager the horoscope has more predictive power because magical confirmation bias is likely to manifest itself more powerfully within your psyche than one that claims some basis in modern science.

Also INTP here.

I could go on a spiel about my take on the dispute on MBTI's credibility, but I won't do that just yet. Sometime soon, though.

200e9c No.836

MBTI (the test) is shitty, but the types are good if you understand them as short-hand for the Jungian Cognitive Types. I'm an INFJ.

Tests such as these hinge both on the relative stability of a personality, as well as a reasonable grasp or understanding of said personality. As such, the test can only be as accurate as those who take it make it be. Though I will grant that this test endeavours to incorporate nuances of behaviour and can yield potentially helpful results even to those less reflective of themselves and their actions.

>>812
I have to disagree. This test at least attempts to form judgement based on individual input, which is something a horoscope does not do in the slightest.

For the record, I have taken several variants of this test quite a while ago and have mostly been classified as INTJ or occasionally ISTJ, though the S/N and J/P ratio tended to fluctuate quite significantly.

INTP too

000000 No.981

ENTP here, some of the questions are very situational though, not sure how accurate these test can be.

815ff5 No.982

I suppose when I think about it there would be a specific type of person who is attracted to philosophy. That said, Philosophy has a broad spectrum. I think there are aspects which appeal to individuals of all Myers-Briggs personality types. - BTW im ENTJ

mbti is a garbage way to figure yourself out. instead of introspection you just slap a label on.

although by its definition im entp

Apparently I'm an INTP, but I don't believe in this crap.

This. MBTI is a rough, superficial sketch of one's personality AT BEST AND IF ADMINISTERED BY A PSYCHOLOGICAL "PROFESSIONAL" (heh)

saged for being off-topic

you can take this test and be a different personality every time, its retarded

Second question and it's total bullshit.
I quote : "A logical decision is always the best, even when it hurts someone’s feelings."
well if in my logical considerations I always consider important not to hurt anyone's feelings, I cannot even have a logical decision which is the BEST, AND which hurts someone's feelings.
I mean I see what it's trying to say but I sincerily find this question so vague that I can't answer it.

The first one is stupid too : "You find it easy to introduce yourself to other people." Who other people ? Fuck yeah wit negros where I live I know how to introduce myself, but no when I meet teachers & shit.

"You try to respond to your e-mails as soon as possible and cannot stand a messy inbox."
Believe me or not I went thru life without an email so what ? Do I induce some kind of general "tendency" from the way I answer to my texts message like a dirty Arab scholars determines law by analogy from al-Coran ?

"Your home and work environments are quite tidy." I mean fuck I don't know. It's empty asf so yeah I work well there but I think I haven't cleaned it in six months.

"You like to leave matters undecided for as long as possible as there may be better options down the road."
Vaguest question ever axed. I mean you really need to be a 34 years old baby mama in need of a personality to fill the void.

"You rarely get mood swings."
Then : "Your mood can change very quickly."
How is that any different ? Is that some meta way of checking if your answer wasn't bullshit the first time ?

I won't go on forever but who wrote this piece of shit ?

>How is that any different ? Is that some meta way of checking if your answer wasn't bullshit the first time ?

I guess so. As far as I remember even professional psychological tests do this (well I'm not sure if you can call my countries military tests professional.)

433244 No.1278

Come on, it's just a crude sketch of personality and it works alright for what it is.

b39da4 No.1287

Well it says I'm an INTP so I'd rather believe it doesn't.

d313e4 No.1302

>>981
and yeah, definitely this. sometimes the questions even seemed to contradict themselves, like deciding between cooperation and efficiency. if everyone's cooperating then as a group you'd be really efficient lol

0847fc No.1303

If you think MBTI has no validity you're just ignorant on the subject, honestly.
Protip: The test is shit and you will most likely lie to yourself.

3c54ac No.1305

Personally, I've always tested the same (ENTP), and find the descriptions to fit me well.
I've also found that I am very similar to other people on online ENTP communities.
Clearly the accuracy and consistency of these tests is variable.

>Ideas are often more important than real things.
what is even meant by this?
>It does not take you much time to start getting involved in social activities at your new workplace.
assuming there's the potential for this in every occupation.
>You believe that moral positions are often more important than what makes logical sense.
holy shit! am i supposed to take this seriously?
>You would rather work in a team than alone.
does disagreeing mean i would rather work alone, or does it mean i don't care?

it felt inappropriate answering the majority of these questions with a slider.

oh well...

That makes two of us then, I'm an INFP that switches to an INTP every once in a while

Pretty much spot on as far as I can tell. It is a shame so many people still only know Frued when Jung's theory has aged so much better.
