Getting shortcrust thin and into a pan is impossible for me, it just rips and tears … am I doing something wrong or is shortcrust pastry just something which high functioning retards should avoid?

Pic slightly related, my favourite pie (rijstevlaai) using a yeast pastry which is much more forgiving to work with.

I think the key is just to work fast so that it doesn't become greasy and start tearing. Gotta make sure it stays cold, use cold water, chill beforehand etc.

It is generally a bitch, though.
