Can we get a new thread going? I'm interested in the AN-2 Biplane. Also: Milsurp General.

That bi-plane looks neat. If I ever get the money I'd want a fighter from the second world war. In a magazine I saw a German fighter that was formerly flown by an ace for only 3 mil.

Best utility aircraft ever made.

Pros:
-Cheap to produce/buy
-Relatively cheap to maintain
-Can takeoff within 170m and land within 215m
-2150kg useful load
-It's a beauty

Cons:
-Fuel economy.
-Illegal for commercial use in the US/Canada

I also forgot to mention that another con is it's range, it has about half the range of it's american counterpart (Cessna caravan)

Something about the fuel it uses if I recall correctly, that and nobody bothered to license the thing here.

Also instrument panel is coated with radium or something to make it glow in the dark.

Thats pretty much all old aircraft.

If I remember right, in case of fog, you can land this thing by stalling.

How is that supposed to work?

Extremely low stall speed, in a stiff breeze it essentially turns into a VTOL
