No.9
Hello, and welcome to /pk/!
Our purpose is to be a Sanctuary free from the iron fist of /vp/'s janitors and site mods. And it's not just /vp/, but all of 4chan is going to shit by a corrupt moderation that allows and supports it. 8chan is becoming the largest refuge site for those who are tired of 4chan's censorship and want freedom of speech, which is why we're here. 8chan has also become the second largest image board, right under 4chan.
For those of us on /pk/, I guarantee that I will not allow any censorship and corruption to happen here. I encourage anyone to advertise on /vp/, if you want, to make sure people at least know they have a Sanctuary from /vp/'s bullshit. Any method of advertising you may think of is more than welcome, so feel free to advertise whatever and however you want. With enough advertising, we can help those people who want a Pokémon board of freedom. I know we're all still gonna browse /vp/ as long as there's at least something good there. We just want it known that you all have a place to concurrently browse to continue things you like if they're being censored.
I know some may think of this as a joke, and/or not give two fucks about the state of /vp/. That's fine, if they want to stay, by all means stay. Though for those who want out to a free alternative, at least they'll know they can come here.
Some of you may ask why /pk/ is any different than the other Pokémon boards that have existed/exist on 8chan. For one, they have/had rules restricting freedom. If the total freedom here is too much for you, (eg. you really don't like having no restrictions on porn), then sure, go to those remaining boards, like /poke/. I have absolutely no problem with advertising /poke/ if people want to avoid porn. Though, Generals should be a big help to contain it. But two, other boards don't/didn't advertise, and in result, they are barely active, eventually leading to the removal of some. I don't want us to stop advertising until we are active at a self-supporting level. I've considered all mistakes and errors made with the other boards and /vp/, and in result, hopefully this different approach in things will push our board to actual success. If you censor something and request it "kept to a minimum" because you don't like it, I don't see that as pure freedom, I see that as censorship, which can potentially lead to censorship of another thing, and another, and another. Exactly like what happened on 4chan. You have to find the best win-win solution from all perspectives. I welcome all ideas and/or constructive criticism that can make this the best place it can be.

So now, for the most part, no rules, obviously. Though for the sake of a smooth running and productive board, a few simple things have to be noted:
1. Everything MUST be Pokémon related. Though, things related to the state of /pk/, /vp/, and anything that generally relates to us is allowed, unlike on /vp/. Just don't make, for example, a LoZ or thread or something completely unrelated. This is /pk/ after all. There's other boards for that content.
2. Keep reoccurring topics in General Threads: (eg. Anime General, Wi-Fi General, PowerSaves General, PokeGirl General, Furry General, Giveaway General, etc.) This avoids clutter, and smoother operation. This is the main thing to enforce, because it was the fate of other boards. (Continued in #3)
3. Yes, all NSFW content is allowed, because that's part of total freedom. Though, consider using Generals, eg. "Pokegirl General" or "Furry General" to keep things smooth. Other boards were dominated by such content. So without restricting this freedom, for the best win-win solution I think possible, please try to keep them in generals, unless, for example, you want a thread specifically about May. Otherwise, a General would be best. Also, consider the other boards available for this content. Consider to spoiler images as a courtesy to those who may not want to see it, though this will not be mandatory.
4. No spamming multiple threads of the same topic. This alludes stuff like the Goodra threads on /vp/. Only one thread is allowed. Don't make 20 for the sake of spamming.
5. And obviously, the global rules mandatory on the entire site: "Do not post, request, or link to any content illegal in the United States of America"
So have fun, and lets continue with our regular /vp/ "community". I don't think anyone will have problems following these simple "rules", if you wanna call it that. I think it's the best win-win solution we can have. I know it's hard to please everyone, and then there's always trolls. Though, like I said, I'm willing to work with anyone's suggestions and/or constructive criticism to make this the best place it can be. Don't take our total freedom for granted, and use your freedom of speech to work with me if you think something can be made better. We left /vp/ for a reason.
