Burden of evidence lies on those who make the claim, as it is impossible to prove a negative outside of pure mathematics.

Race is a social construct; it exsits because there are a lot of references to it, books about it, people who believe in it, and policies oriented around it.

Not that it is invaluable; I believe race is an incredibly important social construct that makes categorization of different groups of mostly similar people much easier, and that a race's independence and self-determination should be valued. But it doesn't objectively "exist".

This just baffles me. How could someone think that race does not exist? There are obviously groups of people with different physical features that tend to share ancestors, a particular area of origin and also often have the same or similar culture. Of course the attributes and culture surrounding the physical features are socially constructed but this is irrelevant. Most of our lives are based around social constructs but we shouldn't just forget everything and go back to communicating via guttural sounds because "hurr durr the english language is just a social construct".

Social constructs come into existence through being used and are cemented as time passes.

Race exists as long as these constructs exist in the minds of people. And unless someone lobotomizes the entire population races will continue to exist as constructs based on objectively existing physical similarities and differences between people.
