Why does Generation Z pretend to like Pokemon?
I really don't know understand how someone could be a Pokemon fan if they were born after 1995.
What I mean by this is that the generation after 1995 grew up when Pokemon was barely relevant anymore. The golden years of Pokemon lasted from 1998-2002. Someone born in 1996 would have completely missed this era, never would've caught Pokemania, never would've had a Game Boy, never would've had Misty as their waifu. When they went to school, they would be interested in the shitty Diamond and Peal games instead, not the ORIGINALS.
It's weird, but if you watch those "teens react" videos, you'll see the 1996 and up generation just doesn't know anything about classic 90s/early 2000s video games, anime, music, movies, or TV shows. In terms of gaming, they didn't care about games as kids because bumbling Gen X parents prevented this generation from being exposed to ANYTHING until the late 2000s, when COD got popular.

Hey there /poke/, if you were to go on your own pokemon journey, what pokemon would be your battling partners/travel companions and why? What would your pokemon's personalities be like? Would you travel with other trainers or by yourself?
Here are some ground rules/guidelines to follow when making your Pokemon Dream Team:
1. No legendary Pokemon in your party. (Pseudo-Legendaries, Fossils, Starters, etc. are allowed though.)
2. You should have a total of six Pokemon on hand when traveling, as well as some reserves you can access at a Pokemon center should the need arise.
3. If you have reserve Pokemon, the number of reserves should range from 3-5 Pokemon.
4. If you travel with other trainers, you should state what pokemon they have on hand. (Your human traveling companions don't have to have six pokemon)
5. The personalities of your pokemon can be based on Pokemon you have in game. (Your trainer companions can also be based on people you know IRL, such as friends, family, etc.)
6. If you can, post a photoshop picture of your on hand Pokemon team as well as your reserves. (This is optional, but highly recommended.)
7. If any of you /poke/ anons are talented enough, you could make a template with these guidelines in mind.

Alright, all throughout the Advanced and DP sagas (I noticed the Best Wishes arcs pretty much did away with this) I honestly could not be assed to give a solitary damn about contests and the shit that went down with Coordinators.See, all that shit did was take away focus from the rest of the story. Now, it doesn't all have to be about Ash and his journey. Team Galactic were one of the more interesting parts of the DP anime and yet it was so damn important that Dawn and these people I don't care about get their "development" by dragging on an already filler-laden arc with even more filler. Zoey? Kenny? That dude with the lute? Yeah, real crowd-pleasers.
And this pic related semen demon? Lost five contests in a row. She may be my favorite of the female companions (haven't given the XY anime much of a watch yet) but goddam does that particular side of her arc annoy me.

3: You can only catch the first new Pokemon you see in a new area, and are limited to one catch per catch area.
So that's standard, and people make variations but I'm wondering if it's possible to add this rule:
1: You can only use each Pokecenter once.
Your health would be okay, but what about PP? I think there's a berry that can restore PP, but you'd have to get to the point where you can grow them. If it's possible, it would mean you would have to strategize for moves with high PP, and not just strong moves.
Can this be done? Call it Hellloch.

Team Advice general
This is my on-cart team, I've been working on this team for a while now but its still really bad because I don't have much sense about team building. I know cresselia would be better than musharna but I'm not super cereal about battling and want to use my favorites any time I can. Any advice about how to make these mons work together better? Are my move sets or evs especially bad? Does something just really need to be replaced? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.Also team advice general I guess.

Yesterday master felt more tired than usual, he hadn't much energy as always, and told me that his head hurts. "Paralysis?" My first though was to get him to the Pokemon Center. After all that's what he does with me all the time when I feel not healthy. He wast asleep, so didn't resist to get inside the pokeball he uses for me.
Feels so strange to have control over him, only for a brief moment… I wonder if human consciousness is as strong as ours. I was startled as a Ralts when he captured me. I always have been terrified of seeing my body slowly fade into a mass of red light, but now I'm used to it. I only get dizzy at first, but nothing else.
Everyone around seem to be freaked out. I wonder why. Is that unusual to see a Pokemon roaming around without a trainer?
That red and white sphere… I never questioned how Master treated me, but I thought how my life would be without him. Different certainly, maybe for good. I reminded the many times he used me for battle and he receiving all the praise. HE was the good trainer, HE was the perseverant and determined one, and what for US? Be it from fangames or your own grey matter list fake/cool types you've come across from various games.Light- Makes a lot of sense, seen everywhere. Given values are usual mutual effectiveness/weakness regarding Dark types, strength against ghost and water, and weakness against Grass.
Nuclear - Popularized by Uranium. Beats probably Grass, Bug, and Dragon considering they imply organic life. And Time because half lives. Weak to Steel, Water and Electric.
Glitch/Virus- One I've seen a few places, most notably Pokemon Acanthite. Pokemon that exist in cyberspace at a corrupted level. A place you'll see Missingno. and Porygon kind of pokemon quite often. Beyond me regarding type interactions, probably beats Electric.
???- Null or mystery type pokemon. What Ditto and Kecleon shouldve been. A bunch of mystery or difficult to classify pokemon would be an interesting road.
Sound - For god's sake Soundproof as an ability does most of the work for us. Sound would be a type that beats Steel, Water, and Flying, and is mutually beaten by Rock and Ground.
Time- A cool proposal. There are numerous time sort of Pokemon out there already not the least of which being Dialga. Roar of Time and Future Sight would be time moves. Probably beats Space, Grass, Rock and Bug or something due to aging/weathering. Is beaten by Fairy, Ghost, Nuclear and Space.
Space- Both physical space and cosmic pokemon alike! Moves like teleport, trick, spacial rend, and vacuum-cut would be Space moves. Beats Time, Sound and Fire. Is weak to Light, Time and Flying. Much better move pool and selection than Time.
Add your own, balance my absolute garbage typings, bitch about how stupid they are, whatever.
Do please note that no, I don't want these added in future games. Fairy has rocked the boat enough as is.

Fairly new. So I'm playing through FireRed and I really want some help.I get massive anxiety with something like catching and training pokemon because I afraid it would all be a waste of time as soon as I find something better.
How can I know exactly whether a pokemon is a good catch or if I should just pass it by? Is it purely about which moves it can get? I don't care too much for EVs and IVs and natures. I just want to have good basic knowledge of whether something is worth catching or not. Is there some site that tells me if a specific pokemon is good?

My guess is some alien/space type. Theres plenty of pokemon that are "rumoured to be from space" at this point and Delta Episode confirms some of them could be more the rumor. Basically, I'm planning on restarting my Pokemon (ORAS) so that I can do a nuzlocke run, but I don't want to lose my pokemon that I spent time training, is there a way I can keep my pokemon and bring them into my reset? I've heard of pokebank but read it costs money and I don't have any to spend.

Hay guys.
I'm new to the board, I main /pone/. However, I am also a Pokémon fan, and used to mess around with Gen 3 hacktools, so I know a bit about how to use them.
I come to you with the idea of taking Pokémon Fire Red, and "purifying" it- making it a perfect remake of Pokémon Red.
No types or Pokémon added in Gen 2 or 3.
No maps or events different than they were in Red.
No modification of stats or movepools.
No Pokémon where they weren't in Red, and all Pokémon in red where they should be.
A perfect recreation of Red, seperated only by improved graphics, bag mechanics, and battle system.
(That and a few more changes, but I'll try to minimize them as much as possible.)

Am I the only one who prefers the BW2 animated sprites over genVI's 3d models?
I know that they had to make 700-some 3d models, and it must have been a lot of work, but I still think the result is lack-luster. Is there a reason that the models are so statuesque and boring? Or did gamefreak just decide that 3d was two steps forward so they were allowed to take one step back? We usually get at least ONE token Asian gym leader but all the Sinnoh league bosses looked white.Suggestion: In remakes put Byron and Roark, father and son, at the same gym with a doubles match or with each as a gym leader, perhaps even of their own town in a different version. What would you say is the most unique Pokémon team in Pokémon Red/Blue? As a kid I was very typical with choosing Charmander as my starter, catching and training a caterpie and pidgey, Snorlax and Lapras were cool as well, and Dugtrio was useful because of being a level 30 in a level 20 area. So most of the time that ended up being my team. Hey /poke/ I think I found a glitch in Alpha Sapphire.
Apparently if you transfer Pokemon through bank before getting the national dex you may encounter Pokemon from the national dex
I've seen a bronzor and fineon pop up in the dexnav pages and on the field those are the only two I've encountered so far.
This isn't a game breaking glitch or anything just something interesting.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Getting back into Pokemon for ORAS after not playing for several months. Just now realized a recent patch deleted my 6IV Ditto in Y. However, I have access to another 3DS and cart, not updated, that has a 6IV Ditto. So I'm gonna breed 6IV 'mons for each egg group and trade those to ORAS.

If you convinced yourself there would be a BF, then congratulations, you're a retard. GF never announced the Battle Frontier and it was never present in the game's coding. It wasn't "removed", it never existed. The typical redditor response to this is "BUT HGG/SS HAD IT!!!" Yes, that was because Platinum's BF had already been made and they just had to copy and paste it in. FR/LG had a Battle Tower, because it copy pasted R/S, and ORAS has a Maison because it copy pasted XY's. The battle frontier hasn't been in the Pokemon franchise for 6 years now. Remakes are not and have never been intended to innovate the post-game. Which brings me to my next point.

Yes, there is. The Delta Chapter is the most substantial post-game we've received from a remake since FR/LG. HG/SS did nothing to innovate over G/S, except copypaste Platinum's Battle Frontier. In ORAS, we get a whole new chapter to the story, new areas, new legendaries, all kinds of good stuff. So saying there's no post game or that the post game is worse than any other remake is pure nonsense.

It was a card game, but it had nothing to do with the TCG. It was kind of like a tabletop RPG, but simpler and more tame, and it had a story based off of the anime where you traveled with Ash, Brock, and Misty. I think there was a card for every gen 1 pokemon, and each side had a different version of that pokemon. It definitely came before gen 3 was released, and it probably came before gen 2.

A girl I know bred my favorite Pokemon(Hitmonchan) for my birthday and I know it took her a ton of time to get 5 perfect IVs and the right nature. So, she traded the Tyrogue to me because I recently got X, and I discovered it has Keen Eye.
