A shiny male 31/x/31/31/31/31 calm Eevee
If I get the hidden ability, it is becoming a Sylveon, and if not hidden, then Umbreon
End goal is 18 competitive shiny Eevee - 9 males, 9 females, because I am apparently insane and decided that the shiny 4 IV Timid Froakie and the 5 IV competitive Chespin that had absolutely no inbreeding weren't enough punishment
Fucking… Maybe my next project will be breeding a 6 IV female shiny Charizard in Ruby fucking I swear…
No.7900
>>7897First of all, make sure you know what IVs are. For a quick run-down, you want 31s in HP, Def, S.Def, Speed, and whichever attacking stat(s) your mon uses. If you want to be fancy, special attackers don't care about Atk but 0 is ideal, physical attackers don't care about S.Atk but 31 is ideal, mixed attackers obviously want both Atk and S.Atk as 31s, Trick Room mons want 0 Spd. The judge in Kiloude's/Battle Resort's Pokemon Center will tell you that a stat "can't be beat" if it's 31, and he'll mention it being awful if it's 0.
If you're okay with cheating, check out
>>7894 and learn how to make injected mons legal.
If not:
-Go to GameFAQs, get a 6IV Ditto (a ditto with 6 perfect 31s for IVs). Kyogre's Cascade will let you ask for specific natures or spreads (6IVs and either Adamant, Jolly, Modest, Timid, or Naive would be the best starting off), and the other guilds that give away Dittos will probably let you at least pick the nature of a 6IV Ditto.
-Start throwing shit into the wonder trade (bad shit to start off, then your own breeding leftovers later to share the love). Pay attention for other peoples' breeding leftovers; those will be level 1 mons with egg moves, special balls (Johto balls are really good trade bait), or the hidden ability (HAs are illegal with Johto balls, so YMMV trying to rebreed/trade those). If you don't know what the egg moves or HA of a species is, look it up every time you get a level 1 mon; to make things easier for mons you don't know much about, a level 1 mon with markings has a high chance of being a breeding reject with the markings corresponding to stats at 31.
-Use your Ditto to re-breed the leftovers. Learn the mechanics of the Destiny Knot (tl;dr: replace the mother whenever you get a new female with more ideal IVs) and don't forget to use Everstones when you want to keep a certain nature.
-The best thing to trade for early on would be females with the right ability (especially for species that use their hidden ability) in different balls; those females are high-value breeding stock because lots of people like matching the colour of their pokemon to the colour of the pokeball.
-People usually keep track of perfect IVs with the marking system; 6 symbols and 6 stats. Tap them on the status screen instead of actually selecting the pokemon in a PC and marking it with the menu.
-Keep breeding, keep trading, and eventually you'll be as much of a no-lifer as everyone else here.

The modifier is for female and shiny (without a shiny charm). Don't forget to double the number of eggs because there's a 50/50 chance the <x> will be odd instead of even.
The ride never endsHP breeding actually isn't hard if you have Dittos, it just fucks up more often than regular breeding because the x still matters slightly. HP breeding without Dittos is a fucking nightmare, though; basically not worth it unless you're a student with no job.
Slightly related, the first shiny I hatched was a Magneton with 31/x/31/30/31/30 (HP Water) instead of 31/x/31/30/31/30 (HP Fire). I wasn't aiming for a shiny, but I like Magnezone and was really disappointed to learn that a coin flip was the difference between having a competitive shiny and having a shiny I can only use for gimmicks. I'm still conflicted about whether I want to modify the IVs via powersaves/PKHeX or not. The next shiny was a Talonflame that didn't have HA, but Flame Body + Fly at least makes her useful as the party lead for breeding.

If you want to be serious about breeding and don't want to use a hacked Ditto*, you can cover every egg group with 7 pokemon and have 6 IV parents for every future breeding project that doesn't involve genderless mons; one of the possible combinations is pic related. Wi-Fi General on halfchan's /vp/ breeds them and occasionally trades them off, but idk what sort of shit they want for it.
*I assume every Ditto in a giveaway is hacked. It's possible to catch them via RNG manipulation in 3rd-5th gen, but that's much more time-consuming than hacking them genning or hexing them.

The fucking daycare center here is a pain in the ass to deal with. In heartgold, the only other game I bred in, I could just glide up through goldenrod and then back south, and if he's ready with an egg, he'll be standing there.

Make sure it's actually the female with Telepathy. If you're breeding without a Ditto, the eggs will always have the female's ability over the male's and a non-HA female will never hatch HA eggs. If you're breeding with a Ditto, males and females will pass down HAs (but only females will pass down the pokeball).

Your venonat isn't into MILFs
Seriously though, evolve the Venonat. The % chance that you get eggs after every 256 steps is determined by the trainer IDs of the pokemon and the species of the parent pokemon. The highest % breeding combination is same species/different TID and the lowest % combination is different species/same TID. Same species/same TID or different species/different TID have the same %.

No.10656
>>10654
With a 1/4 chance every 256 steps, you're extremely likely (~90% chance) to have an egg after about 2k steps. That shouldn't take more than a few minutes, although I don't know the exact step-count:minute ratio. After hours of biking, that chance should be very close to 100% - 99.999…%, but will never actually reach it. You're the 0.000…01%. Asymptotes are a bitch.
