I remember that thread, I was one of the guys fixing her. There were several versions that came out of it, I still have most of them. As far as that one goes I think I made her legs thicker (someone had to change her left one completely to not be pigeon toed though) and made the shorts into a skirt.

For Brendan all I can think of is make his shoes not point upwards like Dutch wooden shoes, change his expression and give him a new hat.

OP's pic with the Torchic is proof enough that Brendan was meant to have white hair. Sugimori later changed it for Emerald and drew him with brown hair though.
