Amazon has always been able to send it on release day for me as long as you order it early enough, like a few weeks, so now would be the best time. No clue why people bother preordering it at Gamestop when you could order it online and have it come to you the same day.

Do you live across the street from the mega UPS warehouse or something? Are you paying hundreds of dollars for shipping? Same day shipping is rare (I'm talking about it arriving at your house the same day your order it, not simply being shipped the same day)

You can try gambling with Amazon. They're usually pretty good about getting your game to you on release day as long as you pick decent shipping, but they fucked up royally when I preordered AC:NL with Prime 2-day. Ended up getting the game like 3 days late, was stuck behind one of my friends for the early game town development.

I live fairly close to an Amazon warehouse but it should work for you too as long as you order soon. I didn't have to pay extra for faster shipping, it just says it will be here on the 21st. It's been a while since I did it this way though, I got XY at Gamestop and for BW2 I thought the release date was in November so I forgot about it and checked back in November that year only to find out they were out for a month, but I'm pretty sure that for HGSS and BW I was surprised to find that they arrived on release day from Amazon.
