Do you know anything about breeding?
If one of the parents is holding an everstone all of it's offspring will have the it's nature. Replace whatever male you are using with a modest one holding an everstone.

I just GTS'd one of my shitty Squirtles for a Turtwig. Holy shit, that's awesome, I didn't think anyone would trade that for me.

Breed the little guy and you can get every breedable bank-only mon for it in addition to the Gen 2-5 starters:

It's actually a pretty short list. You'd probably get them within a few minutes of upping the trade. The only one I can imagine you having a hard time getting is Glameow who was only ever easy to get in Pearl (Gen V required a fes mission or Dream World).
