Am I the only one who prefers the BW2 animated sprites over genVI's 3d models?
I know that they had to make 700-some 3d models, and it must have been a lot of work, but I still think the result is lack-luster. Is there a reason that the models are so statuesque and boring? Or did gamefreak just decide that 3d was two steps forward so they were allowed to take one step back? Come to think of it, do we blame the 3ds' hardware for this too, or is that something gamefreak could have worked around?

>>6194I prefer them as well. XY should have just used the models from the 3D Pokedex. They all looked great. I don't understand why they didn't do that. I could understand if they had to make different models for the games because there's more stuff to render at once, but the models are horribly unoptimized for the system. Yet, the Pokedex 3D models render nicely and look nicer. What gives?

>>6195>the models from the 3D PokedexHuh, didn't even know about that.
They do look pretty good.
>What gives?I just don't know, sheer incompetence?
Were X&Y rushed at all?
Any hope that Z/XY2 will make them any better?

The sprites look more active and actually animated. If time was put into some proper quality animations, the 3D models would look a lot nicer.

>>6194I must say I was hoping that the would give them attack animations like the Dragon Quest DS remakes. Those looked niiiiiiiiiiiice. And honestly they're animated really similarly.
>>6195the Pokedex 3D models are considerably higher quality and would have probably slowed battles down even more if 6 were onscreen at a time, much less 2.

They made them all from scratch iirc. Future gens should have them get more refined and animated
