So how does /poke/ feel about using legendaries in their party, pre-elite 4(or post)?

I normally just box'em, but Latios in my Omega Ruby became a bro.(Only had 2 other pokemon at the time, so I was like, "why the fuck not?") Just caught an adamant Groudon… A little tempted, but it would just make things way easier than it already is.

I never use them ingame. Competitive I sometimes use a Zapdos or Heatran.
With friends, we sometimes do an all legendary battle though.

Are you having Latios in your party? Can't you call it with the flute? Don't have ORAS yet, coz yuropoor

When I was younger I got so hyped by Lugia in the original G/S I used it in my party.

Afterwards I didn't use them save for competitive battles.

Though I was tempted to use Yveltal because of how cute it was in both Amie and the flavor text about it looking to you for help. Bacon Dragon Bird wormed its way into my heart, man.

>mfw thanks to the eon flute you can fly without having a pokemon that knows fly in your party
I still keep Latias in there, though

I do not. I'm even tempted to box my starter when it starts overshadowing the rest of my party. I've only actually done that a couple of times though.

You want to grind a bit to keep the legend and the other members of the party equal.

I actually want to train the legendaries I catch in every version, but I lack the will to, especially because there are boxes of non-legendaries before them (as I tend to do them in the Dex order), and I eventually grow tired of it.

Oppose. I love them and they're amazing, but they don't prove much. I guess I'm a bit like Ash or one of the characters that feels like it says more to take your favorites, use them all the time and make them strong than using a Pokemon that's already strong to begin with. It's like bringing a gun to a fight match. And since they're vital doesn't it often fuck things up when people capture the legendaries in the anime?

I just want to smack the taste out of the mouths of these punkass kids saying they use Arceus or Reshiram and lose, then call them unworthy and spit on them!! How much do you have to suck to lose with a pokemon like that I ask you. I mean here and there I can understand and maybe if it's competitive but these guys try to make it sound like it's all the time and it's the pokemon's fault and I just aint buyin it they suck

I guess it's kind of a luxury thing for the trainers that use them. 'Yeah Im that tough I own this god now Im the best Im alpha! Get suckin on this kings giant dick slaves!'

The only legendary I've beaten the game with is Manaphy.
And that's because Manaphy is fucking adorable and to my knowledge not god-tier.

The other one's shouldn't be used for the pre-E4 game.

Actually come to think about it, does anybody here actually have issues with using lesser legendaries like the various trios or duos? Because their BSTs aren't that high, and really even Charizard is loads better than say, Moltres anyway.

I keep Latias in my party, and Meloetta, though I hardly use Meloetta in battle, she's more reserved for Amie and contests.
I also keep all legendaries out of my competitive battling, even the allowed legendaries like Latias; they feel cheap, and having Latias in my comp team also prevents me from using Gardevoir as my mega-evo. I did not take ages to breed me a shiny gardevoir with a perfect statline and nature to have latias steal her spotlight.
Did I use legendaries in my first walk through the Elite-4? Nope, though as a result the champ was quite a bitch to beat, in particular because of the primary typing of my team. (Gardevoir, Espeon, Metagross, Rhydon, Ninetales and Fearow.)

It's fun to bring them out on occasion against npc's every now and then.

But they generally get the box. Latias stayed in my party for a long time as the HM slave.
